Chapter 534 - A lot To Fix (1/2)
Cali snapped out of that indulging moment and quickly pushed Rui away with all her strength. She was so frustrated with everything that happened that day; him leaving her for that Candice, then not letting her stay out for a movie, and even threatening her to come back home by saying that he'd snitch on her and tell everything to her grandfather.
And the moment he kissed her, the way she melted filled her with an unknown source of anger.
She did not know what came on her, but she raised her hand and slapped him hard on the face before she ran out to go inside her room.
She closed her door and helplessly leaned on the back of her door. She felt so weak that she slumped on the floor crying. She was upset, but she did not know why. She just couldn't contain her emotions, it was all too overwhelming for her…
She tried to recall something, remember anything about her past that would add up and somehow help her make sense of what she was feeling because she wanted to know why it was all so familiar. She thought hard about that dream and tried as hard as she could to remember a face, or any other detail, but she ended up with just a severe headache.
She crawled towards her medicine cabinet to grab her pill and quickly took one before she laid on her bed, crouching as she tried to relax her head, recalling Rui's words on how to ease her pain.
Cali hugged herself and curled into a ball to comfort herself… Trying her best to calm herself down. So many things just happened, and she felt like it was too much to be processed by her head, so she closed her eyes… Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%!d(string=14191303206660205)/a-lot-to-fix_%!d(string=49882405242194106) for visiting.
But even though she closed her eyes… she could hear Rui's words echoing in her head. It was like hearing him repeatedly saying that he loved her, and her tears just kept flowing from her eyes like a waterfall. It was exhausting and troublesome and she soon fell asleep in that very state...
Meanwhile, Rui stood frozen at his post. He touched his face, the cheek that Cali slapped before she ran away.
”I didn't know my wife had such a heavy hand. She slapped me so hard…” he whispered and decided to never make his wife angry a second time, for him not to get slapped like that again. He would never again dare wake up the devil in her!
Rui then scoffed as a satisfied smile formed on his face. His fingers traced his lips. Cali had answered his kiss… She kissed him back, so her slap on his cheeks was more to save her face from embarrassment than to push him away.
'She liked it,' he mused in contentment, pertaining to how Cali reacted to his kiss.
Cali also slapped him because she had mixed emotions and Rui could understand it well enough. Her head had no recollection of the past, but her heart had not forgotten Rui.
He felt so light-hearted after what happened because he finally let it all out and told her everything. He finally felt that his patience did not go to waste, and he was correct to be hopeful and have faith in their love.
Now, what he must do was give Cali the space and time she needed to sort her feelings out. Rui walked back to his room and dialed a number to make all necessary arrangements before he left the next day.
He grabbed a pen, and a paper then sat on his study table. He exhaled a long, deep sigh before he started writing. He was again being redundant because he had already said some of it to Cali, some sentences of what he wrote in the letter. Rui was smiling and was in a positive spirit while he wrote a love letter as a farewell to his sweetheart.
