Chapter 413 - An Unlikely Friendship (2/2)
The female reporters squealed and the male reporters cheered. ”I don't think I'll be eating dessert today. This scene is too sweet,” a reporter laughed as she watched the couple board their car.
Avaleigh giggled at the comment. ”We haven't set a wedding date yet, but when we do, Steven will make an announcement. You can speak to him if you have any questions,” she said as she boarded Emerson's car. The reporters understood that their interview was over and waved her goodbye as they stepped back with respect.
...
When Avaleigh and Emerson arrived back at their apartment, they noticed a familiar car in their underground parking lot. They parked their car and entered the lobby to find Natasha waiting for them. Natasha rushed over with a bunch of flowers and handed them to Avaleigh.
A smile immediately appeared on Avaleigh's face.
”Let's chat upstairs,” she said as she accepted the flowers. She then unhooked her arm with Emerson and hooked it with Natasha's.
Emerson looked at his bare arms and chuckled as he looked at his fiancee. Ever since Natasha showed up at his family's mansion and apologized to Avaleigh 2 months ago, an unlikely friendship formed between the two women. Perhaps, it was because they were both around the same age and had experienced many struggles in the entertainment industry, so they understood each other.
Natasha was actually a genuine person. After she realized she had misunderstood Avaleigh, she didn't just apologize in person, but she also made a public apology on all her social media accounts. She also made the effort to visit and show her support whenever she could, and she slowly became good friends with Avaleigh.
At first, Emerson was worried that she was doing it for show because she knew Avaleigh was trending. But time proved that that was not the case. Natasha was never seen in public with Avaleigh and she always appeared at their apartment in secret. Even today, when she knew reporters were definitely gathered at the hospital, she chose to wait in their apartment lobby for their return.
As soon as the two women stepped into the apartment, Natasha wrapped her arms around Avaleigh and cheered. ”Congratulations! It's finally over!”
Avaleigh smiled and nodded her head. This woman seemed even happier than she was, ”Yes, it's all over.”
Emerson laughed and walked over to the kitchen to give the two women some privacy. It was nice to see that Avaleigh had a friend. Because she had left home at a young age to start her career in Korea, she didn't have many friends in Hong Kong. Sometimes, he actually worried that she was lonely. But he didn't have to worry anymore.
