Chapter 350 - Make Him Yours (1/2)
The first few days after her contract was canceled, Avaleigh tried to call Sue for help. But, no matter what time of day she called, her calls went straight through to voicemail every single time. Eventually, Avaleigh got the hint that Sue didn't want to talk to her. It seemed, during times of crisis, people showed their true colors.
”I haven't been able to get in contact with Sue either,” Chu said as she chatted to Avaleigh over the phone.
”I even went to the agency, but the security guards stopped me at the entrance,” she added.
Avaleigh sighed, ”I guess we need to rely on ourselves from now on. How are the other girls holding up?”
”Ara, Nana, Olivia, and I have met once since our contract cancelation, but we've pretty much lost hope in returning to music. Ara runs a YouTube channel that's still making her a little bit of money and Nana still has her spot on the radio station, but Olivia and I are completely unemployed at the moment. As for Ray, she returned to Japan to spend some time with her family,” Chu explained. ”If we try to look at things positively, at least this has given us an opportunity to spend time with the ones we love. For example, I've been seeing my boyfriend more often and we don't even have to keep our relationship a secret anymore. It's not all bad...don't you agree?” Chu asked with an underlying meaning to her question.
Avaleigh blushed a little. She had a feeling she knew what Chu was referring to, but she pretended to be oblivious, ”Yes, I'm planning to move back to Hong Kong permanently with my mother. She's looking forward to spending more time with me.”
”Ha! Are you moving back to Hong Kong because of your mother? Or because of President Wu?” Chu teased straightforwardly. ”I heard you've been living together...”
Avaleigh quickly cleared her throat and corrected her friend. ”Hey, we haven't been living together! He's simply renting his apartment to me...” she said shyly.
She was telling the truth. Although she had agreed to be Emerson's girlfriend a few days ago, he still returned to his family's mansion every night and they never did anything apart from sharing a kiss on that first night. After all, they were both inexperienced with relationsh.i.p.s and neither of them knew what to do.
But, to her surprise, her friend replied, ”What are you waiting for? Hurry and make him yours before someone else steals him away! Haven't you seen the articles online lately? Emerson Wu ranked number one as the most eligible bachelor in Hong Kong for the 4th year in a row!”
”Most eligible bachelor? Make him mine?” Avaleigh blushed.
”Yes! Sleep with him and don't give him the chance to consider any other woman but you!” Chu said straightforwardly.
Avaleigh trembled and quickly hung up her phone, ”I don't know what you're talking about...”
But, as soon as she hung up, she found herself scrolling through the articles that Chu was talking about. Chu was right; women were obsessed with Emerson! There were even articles about women trying to confess to him and those women were all attractive with wealthy backgrounds.
Before she knew it, Avaleigh found herself clicking through one article after another like she had been sucked into a black hole that she couldn't get out of.
