Chapter 189 - The Sparrows Missing (2/2)

”It's normal to feel a little tired. In a few more hours, you are going to feel worse. Have some food and drink, you still have a long journey ahead of you,” the young woman smirked.

Jaclyn looked at the woman in a panic. What did she mean? What was she planning to do to her?

”No! I'd rather die!” Jaclyn said as she spat at the woman.

Mia wiped away the spit and placed some rice up to Jaclyn's mouth. ”Are you sure you don't want to eat? You haven't eaten all morning,” she said.

Jaclyn kept her mouth shut and turned away.

Just as she did this, she suddenly heard a scream coming from one of the bedrooms. It was a woman's voice and her scream was blood-curdling.

”Is there someone else in here?” Jaclyn asked as her eyes enlarged.

Mia glanced towards the bedroom door where the scream came from. ”She arrived a couple of days before you...” she said.

As she spoke, the bedroom door opened and the topless man from earlier walked out. Through the gap in the door, Jaclyn could see a distraught young woman lying on the floor with her hands cuffed to the leg of a bed. Her hair and clothes were all in a mess.

”Let me go...” she cried weakly.

John closed the door and glanced at Jaclyn. Jaclyn noticed he had a few fresh scratches on his arm. The woman must have put up quite a fight.

Jaclyn swallowed in fear. What had she gotten herself into?

...

While Trisha hacked into the local security cameras again, Jackson and Halia walked around to the neighboring stores with a photo of Jaclyn.

”Have you seen this woman?” Jackson asked the man in the convenience store opposite.

The man looked at the photo and shook his head.

After asking a few stores, they finally ended up outside the hotel that was connected to the club.

Halia walked up to the bellboy that was standing at the entrance and showed him the photo in her hands. ”Have you seen this woman?” she asked.

The bellboy looked at the photo and picked it up to take a closer look. ”Yes, I saw her about 40 minutes ago!” he said.

”She was running out with a German woman and they boarded a taxi. They looked to be in quite a hurry. I noticed her because her hair was messy and her clothes were really dirty. Our guests aren't usually like that,” the bellboy scowled with disgust.

”Did you recognize the German woman by any chance?” Jackson asked.

”I've seen her a few times. She seems to be a regular at the hotel, but she always seems to be in a rush,” the young man replied.

At that moment, Jackson received a phone call from Oliver. He and Trisha had discovered something. ”She ran out of the hotel next to the club and boarded a taxi with a woman,” Oliver said.

”Yes, that's what we've discovered as well,” Jackson said, confirming that their information matched.

”I'll send you a screenshot,” Oliver said. ”Maybe you can investigate further. We will try to trace the taxi they caught.”

As soon as Jackson hung up the phone, he received a screenshot from Oliver. He immediately showed the screenshot to the bellboy, ”Is this the woman you saw?”

”Yes! That's her!” the man replied.

As he looked at the screenshot, a colleague leaned over nosily to have a look.

”Hey! Isn't that the sister of the boss from next door?” the older man asked.

Jackson immediately looked at the man in surprise, ”Do you know her?”

”Yes, she comes here often. Her name is Mia Muller. Her brother owns the club next door.”
