Chapter 189 - The Sparrows Missing (1/2)
It didn't take long before Jackson and the others pulled up outside Muller. The taxi driver glanced at the group confusedly. ”This club is very famous, but don't you think you're a bit early?” he asked as he looked at the time: it was only 12:30pm.
Who went to the club in the middle of the day? The club wasn't even open yet...
”Oh, foreigners,” he mumbled under his breath as he dropped them off and drove away.
Jackson immediately led the group to the loading dock of the club.
Big roller doors sealed the driveway, but there was just enough gap to peek inside. Jackson leaned against the roller doors and glanced around. Just as they expected, the truck from the security footage was parked inside.
”The truck's still here,” Jackson said.
Halia and the others immediately leaned against the door as well to have a look.
”Does that mean they're still inside?” Trisha asked.
Jackson did not reply as he continued to scan every inch of the dock.
At that moment, the back door of the club suddenly flew open and a tall German man walked out.
Jackson and the others continued to peek in with confusion. What was happening? The man's face looked quite panicked.
He stormed over to the truck and started yelling angrily in German. Two men then jumped out of the truck and immediately ran inside the club.
”What's happening?” Halia asked.
She couldn't understand German, but something did not feel right.
”He said...”
”...the Sparrow's missing...” Jackson replied.
Jackson was fluent in many languages, and German was one of them...
The four moved away from the roller doors and looked at each other with understanding.
The Sparrow was missing...
Jaclyn was missing...
”Did she escape?” Trisha asked.
Jackson quickly glanced around the streets with hope. ”Trisha, I want you to check the security cameras in this entire vicinity for the last hour. We need to find her before they do!”
...
Jaclyn opened her eyes and blinked a few times. A moment ago, she had been knocked out inside the home of a man she had just met.
As she looked at her tied up wrists, she sighed in frustration.
All the signs were there.
Why did she follow a stranger that she just met to the home of a man that she didn't know? When Mia said not to contact the police, she should have known that something was wrong...
Jaclyn yawned a few times. She was feeling oddly tired.
”Jaclyn...” a female voice approached.
Jaclyn looked up and saw Mia walking towards her with some food.
”What are you trying to do to me?” Jaclyn cried as she tried to break free from the restraints.
