“Is this the child?” Lan Lixiao looked at the child who was in A Miao’s arms, “the one who mistook you for her mother?”

A Miao had to soothe Yaya who hugged her tightly and said, “Yes. We met in a restaurant. She knows Little Demon.”

“Shen Xinglan had previously hired Little Demon.” Lan Wenxuan was not surprised.

They have already discovered this when they were about to hire Little Demon. She had been hired by Shen Xinglan to protect his wife previously, so it was natural that the kid knew who she was.

“Really? What a coincidence?” Lan Qin felt quite suspicious.

“Why was A Miao involved in so many things that concerned Shen Xinglan?”

“I don’t know whether it is fate or not.” A Miao smiled and said, “But now, what about this kid?”

“Why did you bring her back?” Lan Wenxuan liked this little girl, and held an apple to tempt her. “Where is her dad?”

A Miao said as planned, ” I don’t know. I don’t have her father’s number. We could not find anything, even with the help of the hotel staff. It grew dark at that time, so I had to bring her back.”

“She is very cute!” Probably seniors always like children. Lan Lixiao reached out and said, “Come here to Grandpa.”

Yaya looked at him and buried her head in A Miao’s arms.

Everybody did not know what to say.

“Your name is Yaya, isn’t it?”A Miao picked her up and pretended to be perturbed, trying to hide her happiness. “This is your grandpa. Can you say it?”

Yaya shook her head, because no one had taught her how to say it.

“There are no seniors in the Shen family. I heard that his wife did not have any relatives either.” When Lan Wenxuan saw that the kiddy was not interested in the apple, he threw it away and picked up a banana instead.

“I gave my number to the restaurant. If her father comes back to look for her, the staff will let him know.”

Lan Qin did not have the chance to look at the kid until now. She was very cute and pretty. “Her father is not responsible at all. How can he leave his kid behind?”

She asked, after thinking for a while, “Has she been abandoned?”

“Dad did not abandon me! I went out to look for mom,” Yaya suddenly said, beyond everyone’s expectation.

She looked at Lan Qin with her big eyes, unblinkingly. Her plump face and pudgy cheeks were just an invitation for one to poke them.

Lan Wenxuan could not help holding up a finger…to poke her.

Lan Qin reprimanded him and said, “You are strong! How can you poke a baby’s face?”

“Yaya, don’t cry. Your uncle didn’t mean it,” A Miao said, as her heart ached. She shot Lan Wenxuan a glare.

Lan Wenxuan thought, “I didn’t use any strength at all. Just a slight touch. Are kids really so vulnerable?”

“I…I will be more careful next time,” he said in embarrassment.

Yaya hugged A Miao, sobbing and said, “Mom, I…I want to sleep…sleep with you tonight.”

“I am not your mom.” A Miao said helplessly, “Your father will bring you home later.”

“Mom…mom, Do…don’t you miss me?”

Seeing A Miao trying to explain further, Lan Lixiao interrupted her and said, “It’s no use talking to her. What do children know? A Fu, tell the cook to prepare some food for the kid.”

Lan Lixiao said to A Miao, “You take her to have a bath.”

A Miao nodded, and carried her to the bathroom.

“It’s a pity that such a pretty and young kid should have lost her mother.” Lan Qin was a woman and mother, so she was more compassionate. She sighed and said, “It seems that her father is really unreliable.”

Lan Wenxuan smiled and said, “Shen Xinglan has met up with a lot of people, these days. In my opinion, it could be that he wants to do business in Jingcheng City.”

“Does the Li family have any reaction to that?” Lan Lixiao asked.

“Not yet.” Lan Wenxuan said, after thinking for a while, “I think they are waiting to see what we will do.”

Lan Lixiao sneered, “We have a lot of time. It coincides with my meeting with Director Shen today.”

Lan Lixiao looked at the man in front of him, and narrowed his eyes. “Director Shen, please don’t stand on ceremony. Take a seat.”

“Are you here for your daughter?” Lan Wenxuan poured him a cup of tea and said, “Why did you abandon her?”

Shen Xinglan rubbed at the the space between his eyebrows and said, “I had no time today and asked one of my friends to look after her. But I don’t know how Yaya got lost.”
