Chapter 523 - Not Leaving (1/2)

Cai Yanyan went into Xia Yu’s house anxiously. Unexpectedly, Xia Yu asked her to have a seat in a peaceful mood, not having slapped her on the face as she had imagined.

Xia Yu’s anger had abated after days. She felt herself also accountable for the scam made by Cai Yanyan, because she didn’t refuse to see her despite all the tricks that woman had played.

“Xia Yu, I’m sorry!” Cai Yanyan bowed her head not to look at Xia Yu.

“Spare your crap. I asked you to come for one thing and you must tell me the truth. Of course, you can refuse. But I warn you to think twice before making the decision.” Xia Yu said after glancing at her.

“I will be honest.” Cai Yanyan kept her head drooping.

Cai Yanyan didn’t have any choice in the situation, did she? That’s why she would confess.

Xia Yu made it in one sentence, “Did Xiao Man tell you it’s Young Master Mo who plotted it?”

“She didn’t mention his name, but it’s blindingly obvious.” Cai Yanyan answered frankly.

“That’s it. You can go.” Xia Yu thought for a while after hearing that and asked Shen Qiang to send her away. Then she kept sitting there, wandering.

Second Brother hove a sigh and gently touched her head, seeing Xia Yu being silent. He didn’t try to persuade her after some thought.

But his face went ugly with his eyebrows twisted.

“Xiao Yu, have a rest.” Second Brother said.

He moved to where Xia Yu lived to took care of her after he heard that incident. Their master would arrive soon after being informed of what happened here by him.

Before that, he would sub his master to protect Xia Yu from any harm even in the slightest.

“Um.” Xia Yu lifted her head to look at Second Brother. Despite their limited time spent together, Second Brother really treated her like his own sister, which was appreciated by Xia Yu.

Sometimes, she was jealous that her father had such an excellent apprentice. Silently, she erected on her feet and went into her room.

It was pretty much after more than an hour when she woke up. Still sleepy, she went into the bathroom to rinse her face to awaken herself.

“Why are you blushing?” Second Brother felt worried about her and stretched out his hand to feel her forehead, after noticing her awake. “It feels hot like a fever. There’s medicine in the house, and you may have some.” He’s about to fetch some medicine.

She did feel sick but not that much, so she seized him, “It’s not a fever. Don’t worry.”

“We’d better take it seriously.” As Xia Yu experienced such a misery that the bruise was still there, Second Brother always kept on his toes.

“Xia Yu, are you sick?” Right now Shen Yan came in and looked worried hearing what Second Brother just said.

Having a glance at Shen Yan, Second Brother turned his eyes back to Xia Yu saying nothing.

“Xia Yu, you must have the medicine.” Second Brother said.

“He’s right. Shall I serve you?” Shen Yan echoed aside.

Another bigmouth’s here despite her reluctance. Xia Yu knew she had no option.

They were finally relieved as Xia Yu swallowed the pills in front of Shen Yan.

It was then when Second Brother turned to Shen Yan, “Young Master Yan, why are you here?”

He should’ve been leading his subordinates to seek those people, shouldn’t he? In fact, Second Brother also ordered his people in the Ruyi Tower to help him. They would show no mercy once that gang was caught.

“I came to see Xia Yu.” Shen Yan was indeed worried that Shen Qiang brought Cai Yanyan here so he came by. Surprisingly, he only talked to Liu Sijie for a while and Cai Yanyan had left along with Shen Qiang.

“Talk with Xiao Yu, Young Master Yan. I’m returning to Ruyi Tower.” Second Brother said to Shen Yan.

Then he asked Xia Yu to have a good rest and left after Xia Yu agreed.

Xia Yu was about to ponder over what had happened in the last few days since she was not in a good mood and wanted to stay alone quietly. She asked Shen Yan to leave her alone but he refused, saying that he would stay to take care of her.

Shen Yan, when he wanted to take advantage, he would act shamelessly, and he was canny enough to pretend to be in distress since he knew Xia Yu was still in a bad mood, who ended up giving in to him. “Can I have a sleep here? I haven’t slept for several days. I assure you it’s just a while.”

The man said when he got into bed, then quickly crept into the quilt, with one hand still holding Xia Yu’s hand tightly.

“You…” Second Brother would come back no sooner. Though he knew her relationship with Shen Yan, they hadn’t married yet. She felt embarrassed and improper to let a relative witness such a scene, so she had planned to let him get out of the bed. But she didn’t make it as a glance at Shen Yan’s gaunt face hit her soft spot.

The man’s mouth turned upward, and he held and kissed Xia Yu’s hand with his which were soft and warm. The part he had kissed felt crispy.

It didn’t take long before he fell asleep. The rhythmic breath in his nose showed that he was really sleepy.
