54 Chapter 54 : Starting An Ambiguous Affair With The Husband 1 (1/2)

The Xing couple finished their scuba diving entertainment after an hour. They are now basking in the lounge area of the yacht so they could rest and move to their next activity which is island hopping. Different kinds of tropical fruits and desserts were on the long table, ready to be eaten by the couple.

The servants and the instructor were on the other side of the yacht to give some privacy to the couple. Also, it was ordered by Hongqi since he didn't like other people seeing Xiulan in her swimsuit.

Xiulan is busy munching a slice of watermelon while she lays on the bamboo straw lounge chair while Hongqi's busy on his phone again.

”Didn't we agreed to their terms already that he will appear in the said variety show for an hour? He has other schedules after that show. Why are they pushing it to two hours? I'm on a vacation so refrain from calling me every now and then. Do you want me to fire you?” Hongqi angrily said the person in the other line. His handsome face was frowning and it seems like he's really pissed.

Xiulan only stares at the fuming Hongqi while she heartily eats the different fruits. They are both the CEO of their respective companies but there's really a huge difference in their workloads.

It must because their companies are in a different environment. IT companies are usually chill. Add that her company doesn't need any marketing noise since she pretty much prefers getting clients that have stumbled to her company website or word of mouth.

Marketing noise from expensive ads were really not her style. This has been an long issue of her marketing team with her.

While on Hongqi's side, their company must always makes a noise by following the latest trends, expensive ads in different forms, and both good and bad publicity.

For Xiulan, it was very tiring. Good thing she graduated to an introverted work environment.

”Can't they just leave me alone for a week.” Hongqi irritably mumbled while he place his phone on top of the small table between their chairs.

”You should turn off your phone.” Xiulan innocently suggested. She was now munching the mango graham dessert. Actually her phone is currently turned-off too since her sister Qiaohui has been calling and sending her weird messages. In case Secretary Dandan has inquiries, she told her to send it through email instead.

Hongqi coldy gaze at Xiulan like he heard the most atrocious suggestion in his whole life. ”You do know I can't leave my phone dead. As a CEO you should know that.” He spicily said and get up to get some fruits on the long table. His tone was rather sarcastic.

Xiulan's mouth remains open when she heard his sarcasm. It didn't offend her but it made her disconcerted. ”Split personality?” She silently questions while she stares at his muscular and broad back. He was still super happy and sweet awhile ago, yet just because of a phone call, his attitude became like an old woman with menopause.

She really doesn't get Hongqi's personality. Most of the time he's overly sweet and then there are times he's so cold and domineering. Until today, Xiulan doesn't know Hongqi's original and genuine side.It may take her a whole lifetime to understand this man.

Hongqi came back with grapes, three slices of watermelon, and two slices of mangoes on one plate. While on the other plate, it's full of different sliced fruits he picked for Xiulan.He doesn't have that handsome frown anymore and it's now masked with a sweet smile.

Xiulan wanted to understand his weird mood swings and attitude. ”I apologize with what I said. But work related issues shouldn't bother a person for a long time.” She apologized but also lectured him. Though he has that smiling face again, she kind of wanted to give him an advice. She heard from a speaker before that a person shouldn't dwell on small mishaps that happens in their daily lives.

Hongqi handed the other plate to Xiulan and gestured her to eat it. Xiulan took the plate and said her thanks then he sat beside her. He picks the watermelon on his plate and made a large bite on it.

”I'm not mad or angry. This is just me when I'm working. I tend to be very irritable when I hear something stupid.” He explains while he has food inside his mouth then he continue to devour the watermelon.

Xiulan understands that each person has a different attitude when they are working for professionalism's sake. But most people she encountered in the business world were snooty and fierce. For example, this husband of hers. Whenever he interacts with his haughty lawyer and Secretary Yang Bo or anyone below him, he has that intimidating, domineering aura that makes people's body hair rise. He was snooty, rude and rugged too whenever he talks to them.

She gets to taste his wrath sometimes and she concludes that she wouldn't like him as her boss in case she was an employee in his company. Though bad boss can make employees stronger and smarter, but him as a boss is like facing death.

”Why are you looking at me like that?” Hongqi asked when he felt Xiulan's sharp and heavy stare at him. He's not sure if he did something weird or rude. He was a little irritated awhile ago because unimportant people kept calling him while he's having a vacation. The audacity of these people to pester him. He wasn't mad at Xiulan but her suggestion awhile ago was really out of place.

Xiulan let go of the topic since it was an insignificant matter and she wanted to divert their conversation to somewhere else. She has been curious about his very long list of romantic and lustful affairs and it seems to be the right time to ask him. Though she was not a nosy person, but as his unwilling wife he married, she wanted to understand him more so they can live merrily while they are still together.

While they were scuba diving earlier, she thought a lot of stuff between their relationship. They have been cohabiting really well and no problems. They are in good terms and their friendship is healthy. They fight sometimes but it's because of Hongqi's perverted ways and annoying childish behavior. They take care of each other like a real family too. Though romantic feelings are not present between them, but unconditional love for a family is present and that makes the proper recipe for a harmonious relationship.

But one ingredient is lacking and that is lust. If they can't have romantic love then they at least must have lust. Hongqi has lust for her but she doesn't have any lust for Hongqi.

According to old women's advice, marriage must retain the lust between the couple so they could be together for a long time. Usually, if the other party loses that main ingredient, that's the start of the fall of the relationship.

Xiulan must have this so called lust for Hongqi if she doesn't want to have any problems being together with him. Sex is inevitable not to happen between them since Hongqi kept declaring to her that he doesn't want to touch other women because he has a wife.

Truthfully she thought he's only taking care of his reputation that's why he doesn't want to involve himself with other women. And if they will reach consummating their marriage, she must be willing so she could enjoy it as well. The woman should also enjoy it!

Right now, she's very lazy in coming up with a good plan on how to divorce him since he has been a very good husband. Whenever she thinks about that billion dollar penalty, it only gives her a lot of headaches. She only wanted to divorce him because she didn't like him in the first place and some of their principles were not align. She still doesn't like him until now but he was less annoying than before.

Divorce was her number one plan when she still hated Hongqi to death. But now that they reached this moment in their marriage life, cohabiting together was not bad at all.
