”What's wrong Sasuke-kun?” she asked.

”You're annoying.” Sasuke glared at her. Her expression when she heard that was pale in comparison with Naruto's just then. Sasuke walked away wearing his usual brooding face. I looked at Sakura, fearing that she could burst into tears at any moment but I saw her expression turned soft.

”Maybe next time... I can be a little nicer to him.” She said.

My lips turned upwards into a smile and I turned away from that place and disappearing into the class.

That afternoon, I was looking down outside of the class. Our other classmates had gone off with their senseis. Naruto was restless, he peeked out of the classroom doors every five minutes.

”Naruto, just sit down or something.” She told him. He turned his head behind.

”Why is our team 7 sensei... so damn late!” He said and then he turned and faced us ”All the other teams have gone off with their sensei and Iruka-sensei also left. I couldn't hold my yawn.

”Maybe he was busy with something,” I said as I yawned.

”Busy with what, Dattebayyo!?” Naruto asked. I tried for nonchalance to see if it would work on him.

”I don't know. Jounin stuff I guess.” I said and I walked towards the table that Sakura was leaning on. I jumped and sat on the table. Then I yawned again and I stretched my body.

He is taking his time on this.

”Hey! What are you doing?” she was chiding Naruto. When I looked at him, he was assembling a trap to get on our sensei. He looked very pleased with his handiwork.

”That's what you get for being late,” Naruto said and being the most responsible here, Sakura chided him again.

”Geez, I'm not involved,” she said.

”I don't think this would work, Naruto,” I said. I knew that Kakashi was not a normal ninja. He was respected in a sense, so it was wise to presume that his skills were very good. An involuntary yawn escapes me. ”Man, I am so sleepy.”

”Like a Jounin would fall for such a stupid booby trap.” Sasuke suddenly commented.

”I hate to say this, but I agree with him.” I concurred but then a hand appeared at the doors and the person entered the classroom too hurriedly and the duster fell on his head. I was so surprised that I fell from the table.

It freaking work?!

Naruto and I immediately laughed at him.

”You fell for it, you fell for it.” He said in disbelief.

”I'm so sorry sensei; I tried to stop Naruto but...” Sakura was twiddling her fingers. Somehow I felt that she enjoyed the prank but chose to keep her responsible student's façade. Kakashi just smiled while holding his chin as he was in deep thought.

”Hmm, how can I say this? My first impression is... I hate you guys.” He said we felt like a boulder had been dropped on us. I wanted to retort but my promise with him kept my mouth shut. Soon afterwards, we went to the roof on his order.

Kakashi was sitting on the railings while we sat in front of him on the stairs.

”Well, let's begin with introducing ourselves” he began.

”What do you want to know?” Sakura asked.

”How about your likes, dislikes, your dream for the future and things like that.” He continued. Naruto narrowed his eyes.

”Hey, why don't you introduce yourself to us first?!” he suggested. Sakura shot a questioning look at Kakashi.

”Yeah, you look kind of suspicious.” She concurred.

”Oh... me? Well, my name is Hatake Kakashi. I have no desire to tell you about my likes and dislikes. Dreams for the future... hmm... and I have lots of hobbies.” Kakashi said monotonously. A sweat dropped on her forehead and she looked at Naruto.

”So, all he told us is his name?” She whispered. I suppressed my urge to chuckle.

Kakashi-sensei you're a unique man.

”Now it's your turn, let's start on the right.” He continued. Naruto corrected his headband.

”Yosh! My name is Uzumaki Naruto. What I like is cup ramen. What I like even more is when Iruka-sensei pays for my ramen. What I dislike is waiting 3 minutes for the ramen to cook and my dream is to surpass the Hokage and then have the people of this village acknowledged my existence.” Naruto was determined. Kakashi raised his eyebrows as he took in the information. ”Hobbies... pranks I guess...”

”Hey, what is this ramen that you always talk about? Is it good?” I admit I am intrigued. Naruto's face was that of somebody lost their child.

”What?! You never had ramen before?!!” He yelled. Sakura was fast to clock him in the head and scold him for his loudness. Naruto grinned at me while a bruise enlarged on his head. ”I'll take you to eat ramen after this.” Kakashi scratched his head at our behaviour.

”My name is Uchiha Sasuke. There are lots of things I dislike and I don't like anything and I can't call it a dream. But I have an ambition, the resurrection of my clan and to kill a certain man.” It was his turn. Sakura was in awe of Sasuke but Naruto looked nervous while Kakashi narrowed his eyes on him. I, on the other hand, was laughing. Sasuke immediately glared at me.

”Is that why you look like a stick had gone up your ass every day?” I said and his glare was worse than normal. Naruto tried to no avail to stifle his laughter.

”Ok, next, our only girl.” Kakashi cut in before things went worse.

”My name is Haruno Sakura, the thing I like is... well the person I like is... and uhm... my dream for the future... hmmm? Oh yeah!! What I dislike is NARUTO. My hobby is...” as she said this, her eyes were on Sasuke the entire time. Kakashi then pointed at me while his chin was rested on his right palm.

”Okay, the loudmouth Hyuuga, you're up.” He said. Both Sakura and Naruto laughed at his comment while Sasuke snorted. I grinned and rubbed the back of my head then I bowed at them.

”My name is Hyuuga Hikari, What I like was the peace of mind and Omurice. What I dislike is the thought of being alone or something similar. My dream for the future was to see my mother again but now, I wanted to protect and cherish my new friends and family here in Konoha.” I said while looking at the sky. Their eyes went soft when I mentioned my dream. Except for the brooding expert, or course.

”Okay, that's it for the introductions. Tomorrow we'll start our duties as a ninja.” Kakashi said. Naruto couldn't contain his excitement.

”Yeah! What kind of duties!!? Duties!!! Duties!!!” he yelled.

”First we are going to do something with just the four of us.” Kakashi went on.

”What is it? What is it?” Naruto jumped in.

”Survival training,” Kakashi said.

”Survival training?” Naruto replied, clueless.

”Why is our first duty is training? We've had enough training at the academy.” Sakura questioned and I protested. ”Oh, right. Sorry, Hikari-kun. It's hard to remember that you only had been here a couple of days.”

”This isn't a normal training. This time I'm your opponent.” Kakashi explained. Naruto was still clueless. Kakashi let out a dark chuckle that irritated Sakura.

”What's so funny sensei?” she asked.

”Uhm... Well... It's just that when I tell you this, you guys are going to freak out.” He said. Naruto was again, puzzled.

”Of the 27 graduates, only 9 will be chosen to become a genin. The rest will be sent to the academy. This training is a very difficult exam with a failure rate of over 66%!!” Kakashi explained darkly. Now, Naruto got it and he couldn't contain his surprise. ”I told you. You'd freak out.”

”What? No way!! But we worked so hard then what was the point of graduating.” Naruto exclaimed.

”Oh... that? That was just to select those who have the chance to become a genin.” Kakashi replied and Naruto yelled in exasperation. I tried to shut him up but he was to absorb to hear me.

”Anyway, tomorrow you have to show your real skills on the training ground. Bring all the shinobi tools you have. Oh... and skip breakfast, you might throw up.” Kakashi said and I immediately raised my hand when he asked what I was going to ask.

”What is a ninja tool?” I asked. Kakashi slammed his hand on his forehead.

”What is it that you are holding in your hand?” He asked, pointedly. I could only say ”oh” as my realization came. ”Hikari, you will stay here for a while after this. I will give a quick lesson. The details of the training are on this paper and don't be late tomorrow.”

As ordered I stayed there. He withdrew several weapons from his pouch.

”Now, ninja tools are weapons to inflict injuries. There a lot of common types such as kunai, shuriken, senbons and many others. There is a special type of weapon that was made exclusively for a person or purpose. Take out your tanto.” He went on as I unsheathed my blade.

”Fudo Masamune is a very rare ninja tool that was made by the renowned weapon maker during Sandaime's youth. It is a chakra blade, meaning you can flow your chakra into it to greatly improve its damage capabilities? Do you know your chakra affinity? Chakra nature will greatly increase the damage.”

I shook my head and he brought a piece of paper from his pouch and gave it to me. I laid the paper onto my palm.

”This is a chakra induction paper. When exposed to even the slightest hint of chakra it will react according to the chakra's latent element. Focus your chakra on it.” He instructed and I close my eyes and gather some chakra. When I opened my eyes, the paper was burning in my hands.

”Fire, huh?” I muttered. Kakashi's sweatdropped.

”Not quite. Lose your headband.” He asked but when I did. He laughed nervously. ”It seemed, the eye can let you use all chakra nature at once.”

”What?” I asked, puzzled by his words.

”The paper became damp at first, wrinkled split into two and the other side burned and the others side crumble in your hand.” He explained. I sighed as I take in the revelation.

”This eye will draw more attention than I need,” I said.

”I know but luckily for you, you could hide it well. You should focus on the lightning element first. Since I am more familiar with it.” Kakashi said as he rustled my hair. I nodded as Kakashi reached for another thing in his pouch.

”Honestly, that thing looked small, can it hold all this stuff?” I inquired and he just smiled at me. Kakashi tossed something at me which I managed to catch it before it.

”This was mine when I was your age. You can use it to place the tanto.” I examined the item and found that it was scabbards with straps that run along the length of it which will make the scabbard sit still without moving around. ”Let's go, I will buy you some ninja tools and teach you how to use it.”
