269 Brought in a Famous Physician (2/2)

As the longest servants serving the Princess, Ah Zhen quickly understood that the two would need some time to talk. Ah Zhen wiped the tears in the corner of her eyes before she closed the door behind her.

The two cousins stayed that way until they could no longer shed their tears. Princess Lingchen led Mingyue inside, and the two sat together. Of course, the first thing that Mingyue wanted to do was to check on the Crown Princess' pulse.

Jiang Mingyue was the Princess' former physician, and she knew a lot about the cold poison in the Princess' body. Once she heard that the cold poison had disappeared, Mingyue was happy, but until she could check on the Princess' condition herself, she could not be at ease.

Mingyue sighed with relief when she can no longer felt the presence of that poison. Only then that she let go of the Princess' hand.

”You look well,” Princess Lingchen commented. She had been observing Mingyue as her cousin was taking her pulse. ”I'm glad that you did not suffer any grievance, or else, I would not know what I should do. Mingyue, I owed you so much.”

”Don't say that. You don't owe me anything,” Mingyue said and sighed. She patted the Princess' hands to console her. ”You know that I will always do my best to look after patients.”

Princess Lingchen smiled. Though she knew that Mingyue would not let her blame herself, Princess Lingchen could not shake off that feeling off her chest. She owed Mingyue and her husband too much.

Back then, she had to pull herself together and pretended to be strong. However, when she heard how Yang Yun had got himself into an accident and had almost lost his will to live, Princess Lingchen felt her heartbroken.

She was not as strong as how everyone had thought. Only Ah Zhen had seen how she had cried and blamed herself in the night as everyone has gone to bed. But the next morning, she woke up and attended the court and learned from her tutor as if she had not cried her eyes out the previous night.

Princess Lingchen tightened her grip on Mingyue's hand. ”If there is anything that I can do for you, you have to tell me. I will do anything.”

Mingyue was about to say that she did not need anything but paused. ”Well, there is something that I wanted to ask from you.”

The Princess' eyes sparkled, knowing that there was something that she can do for her benefactor. ”Tell me what it is.”

”I heard that the palace was going to hold a grand wedding in two weeks.”

The Princess' eyes dimmed at the mention of her wedding.

Mingyue naturally noticed the slight change in the Princess' expression. She smiled and continued, ”I want to be part of your wedding.”

”This thing you don't need to ask,” Princess Lingchen said. ”As the most important person in my life, naturally, you will have to attend and be part of my wedding.”

Mingyue laughed. ”Won't your future husband get jealous once he heard that I am the most important person in your life?”

Princess Lingchen bit her lips and frowned. ”You know that this marriage is nothing but political.”

”I thought that the Emperor of Qian Rong and you suit each other.” Mingyue smiled. ”Speaking of that, I still could not believe that the prince I saved had turned into an emperor. Do you think that since I am his benefactor, I could request some benefit for myself?”
