While Mingyue went into the palace to visit the Crown Princess, Yang Yun brought along Li Ran to meet the young Emperor, Lu Wei. As the wedding was approaching soon, Lu Wei had come over to the Capital City to prepare for the wedding.
Once Yang Yun arrived at the residence, Yang Yun and Li Ran was brought to the hall as they waited for Lu Wei to come. A servant came in with refreshments, and soon, Lu Wei stepped into the room.
”I'm surprised to know that you have returned,” Lu Wei spoke as he walked in.
Yang Yun shot a glance at Li Ran before he stood up straight and offered a greeting to Lu Wei. ”Your Highness.”
Li Ran followed Yang Yun's movement clumsily. He looked at the young Emperor warily. This was the first time he had met an Emperor; of course, he was nervous.
”Be at ease,” Lu Wei waved his hands. He glanced at Li Ran and gestured them to sit down. The attendant had informed him that Yang Yun came with another person. Therefore, he was not surprised to see someone with Yang Yun.
”I'm glad that you have returned safely,” Lu Wei said. Instead of asking Yang Yun about his friend, he was more curious to know how Yang Yun lived in the other world. ”I did not think that you would return within the time that Grandmother had given you, especially when I heard that your wife lost her memories.”
”I was fortunate to meet a few people who helped my wife and me,” Yang Yun said.
”Since your wife has returned, why don't you bring her along with you?”
”My wife went to meet the Crown Princess.” Yang Yun smiled.
”Then, you should arrange a meeting for us.”
Yang Yun's face turned a shade darker. ”You're going to marry the Crown Princess soon. Why do you need to meet my wife?”
”Have you forgotten that your wife has saved my life?” Lu Wei said. ”As my benefactor, I have not given her a proper thanks. If it were not for her, I wouldn't be alive today.”
”It's enough to convey your gratitude through me.”
Lu Wei laughed. He did not think that his friend would be too petty and would not allow a meeting between them. Back when the two of them were staying with the Nanlin Tribe villagers, Lu Wei would sometimes ask Yang Yun about his wife. He admired Yang Yun's dedication to enduring the harsh training to look for Mingyue. But once Lu Wei asked questions about Mingyue, Yang Yun's face would turn sour. It was sometime later that Lu Wei found out that Yang Yun had misunderstood that he might be interested in his wife.
”Forget it,” Lu Wei waved a hand. ”Since your wife and the Crown Princess are quite close, I will have my chance to see her later.”
