254 Good Morning, Wife (2/2)
Mingyue took a sip from the hot soy milk. ”What do you mean? Don't you always prepare lunch for me?”
Yang Yun smiled. It was true that he always find the chance to prepare lunch for his wife, and the two would always eat together whenever they had time. ”In the future, I will prepare breakfast and dinner as well.”
Mingyue looked at him and smiled. ”Really? Are you trying to make me fat?”
”It's good if I can fatten you up. Then, you won't leave my side.”
Mingyue bit her lips. ”Yang Yun, I'm sorry.”
Once her memories had returned, Mingyue had always felt guilty for leaving Yang Yun and her family. And this matter would still be the knot in her heart.
Yang Yun went to her side and crouched down. Then, he held her chin softly and tilted her head up, making her look into his eyes. ”Mingyue, you don't have to be sorry. Didn't I tell you that everything is alright now that you're by my side?”
”I know, but still, whenever I thought of everyone after I disappeared, I felt sorry.”
”You don't have to feel that way,” Yang Yun tried to coax. ”You dug out that herbs to save the Princess's life. We all know how important that is to you. Princess Lingchen is not only the Princess of Da Cheng. She is also your cousin and friend. She's our family. You and Grandfather had been looking for the herbs for years. Besides, it was not your choice to disappear.”
Mingyue sniffed.
It was her luck that she had found the Shadow Grass. If she did not dig out the herbs before it disappeared, Mingyue knew that she would regret it. But, because of that, she had missed out six years of their life together.
Back then, they were newlyweds. How painful was it for Yang Yun to watch her disappear and live his life without her? Mingyue knew how much Yang Yun love her because she loved him the same.
She was gone, but not dead. She was alive, but they could not see each other.
At least, when they were separated, Mingyue had lost her memories of Yang Yun and everyone else. She doesn't think that she will be able to live with the pain while Yang Yun had to face each day with the memories of her.
And when he had found her… Mingyue had forgotten everything.
In the end, Yang Yun told her that he did not blame her. None of them thought that her action was reckless. They all understood that it was vital for her to find a cure for the Princess.
In fact, if time turned back around, and she was forced to face the same situation, Mingyue did not doubt that she will make the same choice. And if the same thing happened again, Yang Yun will never blame her and, instead, find his way to look for her.
Yang Yun cupped her face with his hands and wiped the tears that started to flow down her cheek. He rose up and pulled her into his embrace, pressing her face to his chest.
Once her tears stopped, Yang Yun helped to clean her face. Then, he turned Mingyue's body around to face the food on the table.
”Now eat,” Yang Yun said. ”Didn't you say you were going back to the Lin's residence today?”
