251 I Won’t Let Her Down (1/2)

Once everything was ready, Mother Lin invited their guests to lunch. She tried her best to act as the best host, while her husband acted childishly by ignoring Yang Yun.

In the end, Mother Lin had no choice but to drag her husband into a quiet corner where she had to warn him to act like a grownup.

”How old are you? Why are you still acting like a kid?”

General Lin pouted after being scolded by his wife. Looking at the way her husband acted, Mother Lin felt the corner of her mouth twitched.

Sure enough, once you get older, you will start behaving like a child. However, looking at the way her husband sulked, Mother Lin could not decide whether her husband's childish act could be said as annoying or cute.

”Wife, you don't understand-”

”You're right. I don't understand,” Mother Lin spoke before her husband finished the words he wanted to say. ”But I understand that our daughter like Yang Yun and he seemed to treat her well. Old man, all this time, I have never seen Mingyue interested in any guy but him. As her dad, don't you think that you should support your daughter?”

”It was because I cared about our daughter that I refuse to give in too easily to that boy,” General Lin said. ”Didn't they say that you will only cherish things that were hard to obtain?”

”Stop making excuses. First of all, your daughters are not things. Old man, I'm telling you that your daughter likes this boy, and she likes him,” Mother Lin said. ”How rare was it that Mingyue finally like someone, and she brought him back to introduce to us. With the way you acted, aren't you afraid that you will disappoint your daughter?”

General Lin opened his mouth to reply but found that in this situation, it was best if he did not say a thing.

”You see, our friends are now surrounded by their grandchildren,” Mother Lin said. ”Don't tell me that you did not want to see your grandchildren?”

General Lin was stunned at his wife's words. He thought about it for a while, and once the image of those cute, small dumplings running around the house appeared in his head, General Lin felt his heart swelled with happiness.

”If you want to see your daughter happy, you will know what to do.”

Before General Lin could reply, his wife had picked up a tray of tea on the kitchen counter and brought them out.

Meanwhile, Yang Yun and Mingyue went out to stroll in the garden.

As she looked at the way her dad acted, Mingyue decided that it was probably not the best time for her to say anything about her origin.

General Lin was still in shock to find out that she had a boyfriend, and Mingyue could not predict what will happen if she told her adoptive parents that she came from another world. She suspected that General Lin would probably call in the doctor to check whether she had knocked her head after she fainted last week.

However, Mingyue also knew that she could not keep this matter hidden from her family for too long.

Yang Yun was distressed when he saw the worry on his wife's face. Yang Yun grabbed her hand and started rubbing his thumb in a slow, circular motion on her palm.
