247 Not the First Person (1/2)

Two days later, Yang Yun went up the mountain with Xiao Mi, and Li Ran to look for the spot where they can form a portal to his world. Because Xue Yi Ming could not leave his office for too long, Li Ran had volunteered to go with Yang Yun.

Moreover, he was always interested in time-traveling stuff and was always curious whenever Yang Yun mentioned about forming a portal.

This time, Yang Yun chose to enter the forest through the entrance, where he found the Shadow Grass the last time they visited the place. However, Yang Yun was disappointed when he could not find any of the herbs. Xiao Mi did not show any reaction, either.

The two of them hiked up the mountain before the sunrise. They reached the camping site at the first peak and decided to stop for a short break. Looking at the way Xiao Mi behaved, it didn't look like they were getting closer to the spot anytime soon.

Yang Yun took out a container with a cat's food that was prepared by Xue Yi Ming and served it to the black cat. Xiao Mi blinked once as his response and ate his food. Looking at the way the black cat ate without any care towards their surroundings, Yang Yun felt the corner of his mouth twitched.

He still could not believe that Xue Yi Ming would wake up early just to prepare food for Xiao Mi. It seemed like his friend really like Xiao Mi. Yang Yun started to wonder if Xue Yi Ming would be alright when Xiao Mi leave his side.

After a short break, the two continued their journey towards the second peak of the mountain.

As there were only two of them, and they were not carrying too much stuff, their trip was much smoother without any difficulties.

Although Li Ran was not as fit as Yang Yun, he was a former soldier. Moreover, after he felt like dying on their last hiking trip, Xue Yi Ming had dragged him to go on training with him every week to build up his stamina.

Therefore, they reached the second peak of the mountain in the evening.

As the sky was going to turn dark in a few hours, Yang Yun and Li Ran found a place to set up a camp and rest for the night. They decided to continue their journey the next day.

When they have set up a tent and finished everything, the sky has already turned dark. Around them, the sounds of night-calling insects could be heard.

Li Ran took a seat across Yang Yun. He took out a bottle and drank a couple of mouthful of water. Then, he stared at Yang Yun for a few long seconds before he turned to Xiao Mi, who was grooming his fur.

”Are you sure that Xiao Mi knows what he's doing?” Li Ran asked. ”What if you were wrong, and we have wasted our time by following him blindly like this.”

Hearing his words, Xiao Mi raised his head and let out an angry meow. Then, he rolled his eyes and continued to lick his fur.

Li Ran stared at the black cat in disbelief. It couldn't be that Xiao Mi really understood human's language, right?

”According to Mingyue, Xiao Mi knows what he's doing. Xiao Mi might pull a few tricks on me, but he would not lie to Mingyue,” Yang Yun said. He took out a packet of bread and handed it to Li Ran. ”Here. Have something to eat.”

Li Ran sighed. He took the bread and ate them slowly. Then, he looked at Yang Yun again. ”I've never said this to anyone,” Li Ran paused and smiled. ”But actually, your wife was not the first person I met that came from another dimension. Did you know? There are a few other people who accidentally arrived in this world the same way as your wife's.”
