203 We Can be Considered Friends (1/2)
The two of them walked around for ten minutes before they decided to eat at a small restaurant. Lin Mingyue wanted to treat him to a meal at another place, but Yang Yun was worried that Mingyue had not had a proper meal all day; hence, he decided not to walk very far.
The two picked a table and ordered their meal. Once the waiter left, Lin Mingyue looked at Yang Yun and smiled. ”Sorry.”
”Why?”
”Well, I initially wanted to take you somewhere nicer,” Lin Mingyue said.
”This place is nice too,” Yang Yun commented. ”Xue Yi Ming and I had tried the boss's noodle before. The flavor was light and refreshing. It should be good for your stomach.”
Lin Mingyue lowered her gaze. She knew that he was considerate towards her, and that made her heart swelled with happiness.
”We can go to the other place next time,” Yang Yun suggested.
Lin Mingyue held her breath.
Does this mean that Yang Yun wanted to go out with her again?
”Is there something wrong?” Yang Yun asked when he noticed the constant changing on Mingyue's face.
Lin Mingyue looked up with a jolt. She was too busy sorting out her thoughts that she had not noticed the waiter had come over with their food and drinks.
”Nothing,” Lin Mingyue shook her head. She pushed some strands of hair behind her ear and took the chopstick from Yang Yun. Mingyue tried the broth first. Once the light, fragrant beef broth touched her tongue, her stomach made a quiet rumble, and her hunger kicked in. Mingyue swiftly ate her noodle.
”Eat slowly,” Yang Yun reminded.
Lin Mingyue paused. She peeked at the man beside her and immediately lowered her gaze. Her face turned slightly red at the thought that Yang Yun might saw her as a glutton. Mingyue chewed the noodle in her mouth and saw that Yang Yun had not touched his noddles. ”You're not eating?”
Yang Yun smiled before he lowered his head to eat. Once in a while, he would peek at Mingyue. Yang Yun felt his heart and stomach full as he watched her eat.
After a while, Mingyue stared at her empty bowl as she wondered how did she consume everything quickly. She glanced at Yang Yun and caught him watching her. Instantly, her cheek flushed. Mingyue placed down her chopstick and contemplated what she should do next.
Lin Mingyue paid the bills and stood at the side.
”Are you going back home? To Lin's Mansion?” Yang Yun asked.
He knew that Lin's mansion and the hospital were quite far. Seeing that the sky has turned dark, Yang Yun was worried that something might happen to his wife on her way home. At this time, Yang Yun wished that he knew how to drive. At least he can be at ease when he dropped off Mingyue personally to their doorstep.
