”The campers we met earlier said that there is a good spot to watch sunsets not far from here,” Yang Yun said. ”We can go and watch them later.”

”You guys should go and watch them. I'm going to stay and look after our tents,” Li Ran said.

”Is that alright?” Lin Mingyue asked. ”Brother Li, why don't we all go together?”

Li Ran waved his hand. ”That's alright. I still have a bit of work to do.”

”What kind of work?” Xue Yi Ming asked.

”Editing.”

Xue Yi Ming's face changed instantly. ”So that was why your bag was heavier. You actually brought along your work?”

”They're just a stack of paper. They're not that heavy,” Li Ran rolled his eyes. This Xue Yi Ming did not see the larger picture. Of course, he had his reason to bring the paper along with him. Li Ran stood up and sat next to Mingyue. ”Let me tell you something about this manuscript I'm reading. Yang Yun wrote it. Lin Mingyue, would you be interested in reading them?”

Lin Mingyue glanced at Yang Yun. Before she could ask Yang Yun about it, Li Ran had put his finger on his lips, gesturing her not to say a word.

”Let's keep this as a secret between us. That guy would be furious if I let others know that he can write,” Li Ran said. ”This is his first work. Naturally, he will be shy about it.”

After a while, Lin Mingyue nodded. Although she was not sure whether Li Ran was playing a trick on her, Li Ran's words had piqued her interest. Mingyue was curious to see what kind of story did Yang Yun write about.

Li Ran smiled when Mingyue agreed. ”Then, I'll give them to you later. But you have to promise me that you will not let others know about it.” Li Ran stood up when Mingyue gave him her guarantee. But once he stood up, Li Ran noticed the hostile look on Yang Yun's face.

”Why are you acting cozy with Mingyue? What secret did you two share?” Yang Yun asked once he dragged Li Ran into a corner.

Li Ran could immediately feel the air turned colder. It seemed like his act had infuriated Yang Yun. ”Hey, relax. Don't be mad. I am not doing anything inappropriate to your wife,” he whispered. ”You remember the first draft you sent me a few days ago?”

Yang Yun frowned. ”What about it?”

”Well, I brought them along, and offered Lin Mingyue to read them,” Li Ran said. ”Is that not the reason you write that story? To let Lin Mingyue remember her past? Aren't I'm doing all this to help you?”
