155 Will You Resent Me? (2/2)
Liu Qing Xin frowned as she continued to watch her son. ”I met Jiang's madame this morning, and she did not say anything about this.”
”It was just decided. I have some matters to discuss with everyone,” Yang Yun said.
Once Liu Qing Xin heard her son's words, she began to panic. ”Yang Yun, what is it? Is everything alright?”
”Everything is alright. Don't worry too much.” Yang Yun smiled at her mother to assure her. ”It's just that I will have to go away in a few days, and this time, I may have to be away for a long time.”
Liu Qing Xin's expression softened. ”So you're going on another mission? You don't have to worry about me, Yang Yun. I understand. You are serving the country. It is only natural that you will have to be away for a long time. How long will you be going this time?”
”Five years.”
Yang Yun's mother looked at her son with surprise. ”That long?”
”Moreover, I am not be going for a mission,” Yang Yun continued. He reached for his mother's hand and held it tight. ”Mother, we found a way to bring Mingyue back.”
Liu Qing Xin gasped. In a second, her eyes moistened with tears. It has been months since her daughter-in-law went missing. Watching her son live as a living corpse saddened her. When she heard that there was a way to bring Mingyue back, of course, she was happy. ”Did you find a way? That's good. This is good news.” She began to sob.
Yang Yun patted his mother on her shoulder as the older woman continued to cry. ”Mingyue's brothers found someone who has some skill and knowledge in this matter. They have promised to help us to bring Mingyue back. However, I will have to stay with them for a while to prepare myself.”
Liu Qing Xin finally stopped sobbing. She wiped her tears with a handkerchief and looked at her son.
”Mother, will you resent me if I go?”
”No.” Liu Qing Xin felt a lump in her throat. ”You're my son. Why would I resent to you?”
”Then, will you resent Mingyue for this?” Yang Yun asked.
When Liu Qing Xin heard her son's question, she let out a chuckle. ”What are you saying?” she took a deep breath and continued, ”Yang Yun, I understood that you love Mingyue very much. Sometimes, even I felt jealous of watching how attentive you were around Mingyue. After all, I didn't get to spend a long time with your father.”
”Mother,” Yang Yun's expression softened. He knew how much his mother missed his late father.
”But Yang Yun, after your father passed away, you have been working hard to help me. You were too harsh on yourself. When I remembered the old you, my heart is full of pain. It was until you met Mingyue that you stop living like that. Therefore, I am grateful that you have Mingyue by your side.” Liu Qing Xin said.
Her lips curved into a gentle smile and she continued, ”I am glad that you're treating Mingyue well. She is a good person and the daughter-in-law I recognize. Yang Yun, I will support you if you want to go and look for your wife. I would rather let you go and pursue what you wanted to do than watching you live aimlessly. Do you understand what I wanted to say?”
