When Fycro finished reciting his oath of godhood, white flames burned within his body and reduced it to ashes. He was quickly resurrected from the divine fire.

The huge ball of light was sucked into his body at the moment of resurrection, fusing into a single being with the godly item within.

Fycro laughed out loud.

”Congratulations, my lord!” The 12 black-robed holy masters said in unison.

The experience did not make Fycro arrogant. He cast 12 balls of light the size of a fist and sent them into the bodies of the 12 holy masters, saying, ”This is my power. From here on, you shall use it to fight and propagate the faith. Any plane I travel to shall be blessed with my power.”

”Thank you, my lord!” The 12 black-robed holy masters were elated. Fycro fulfilled his end of the bargain instead of reneging on the deal when he ascended to godhood. The oath of godhood Fycro recited earlier made no mention of the trade.

Fycro stepped into the air and leaped into the volcano, emerging outside after some time. He was clutching a weapon that looked like a gold-reddish mirror with a sharp edge.

It was a two-way mirror. Glancing down at the object, Fycro saw clouds hovering overhead.

Saleen!

Despite not seeing Saleen's face in the mirror, he could see lightning flashing in the clouds—Saleen's unique specialty.

Saleen probably learned what Fycro was doing shortly after arriving at that interdimensional space. Good, I'll get rid of this pesky mage and then I'll attack Metatrin City.

He was compelled to do anything in his power to prevent Saleen from returning there.

Defenses of Metatrin City were too powerful and, furthermore, the city was protected by the rules of the plane. If he were to return, he would have needed to seal his power at level-12. The risk would have been too high, as Saleen's teacher had probably advanced to a level-12 mage trainer.

Such a trainer would have been able to bring massive power to bear within Metatrin City. Even if he were to get his hands on the godly item of the sun and the moon, it would have still been hard to take down that grand, majestic city.

Additionally, he had no intention of destroying it; he only wanted to take the city.

Saleen would have still thought he was oblivious to the fact that the city was the best way to connect with that interdimensional space. Even though Fycro had opened up a portal himself, that was done with power that came from sacrificing the million-strong army of the Pivotal Council of the Holy See.

That act alone had enraged the Lord of Glory, who would have sent powerful beings to Myers Mainland soon enough. Things would have looked really alive on Myers Mainland by then.

As such, Fycro needed Metatrin City. It was unthinkable for him to have to kill over a million people every time he intended to bring his believers there.

”Come with me to the jungle.”

After Fycro spoke those words, divine light lit up beneath his feet, conjuring a road in midair. One step allowed him to travel over 100 kilometers, a distance surpassing any skills Saleen would have been able to use.

That ability, in turn, would have thoroughly exhausted teleportation portals—the Road of Glory.

On the other hand, the divine spell's shortcoming was its ill-suitedness for combat. Each step would have spanned the same distance. In battle, smaller ranges of movement were needed.

The most practical movement technique for use in combat was Rainbow; however, the constitution of contemporary mages paled in comparison to those of ancient times. Rainbow was also a lost art.

The volcano was about 8,000 kilometers from where Saleen was located. Fycro was capable of covering 100 kilometers with a single step, which meant the would have reached the tower in 80 steps.

Fycro stopped after making 69 steps. A clone emerged from his body. It was holding a long silver curved blade the profile of which resembled a crescent moon. The flaws seen on the moon were also seen vaguely on the blade as well.

Flying high in the air, Fycro had the clone bring the 12 black-robed holy masters down.

He then said to them, ”Open a path in the jungle and attract the mages' attention.”

”Yes, my lord.”

Fycro finished giving his orders and continued flying forward instead of using the Road of Glory. Getting near the magic tower would have been difficult if he were to simply barge in the mages' range of attack. Fycro needed to find the right distance in order to drop right on top of the tower.

Fycro sensed something in flight. The mirror in his hand turned around, and he became covered in a layer gold-reddish bubbles that gradually turned transparent and until he was nowhere to be seen.

Saleen and his teacher watched the magic projection on the 12th floor of the magic tower in a nervous manner. Fycro's image flashed and then he vanished.

”Teacher, Fycro might have ignited the divine fire.”

”Might have?” Jason looked at his student with chastising eyes. As a mage, he felt one needed to understand the plain truth to determine a phenomenon as honestly as possible instead of trying to explain something with ambiguous words.

”The weapon spirit on the Floating City also ignited divine fire as well, and the same thing happened with the weapon spirit in the Lightning Constellation. Someone ignited the divine fire in that direction, and I don't know if it was Fycro.” Saleen explained to his teacher.

”If he had ignited the divine fire, he would have become a level-13 being. I think I'd able to kill something like that, but...”
