It was lucky for them that the dragon was chained, reducing its maneuverability. When Saleen saw that the dragon turned around and was about to use dragon's breath on him, he shot a lightning icicle at it.
At the same time, he cast Thundering Phantasm. Twelve Saleens appeared around the dragon. Six of them were illusions created by Saleen's magic while the other six were Thundering Phantasm, having negligible offensive capacity.
The dragon never expected humans to possess such eerie skills. It immediately used mental powers to determine which of them were illusions and which was Saleen's true body.
The dragon's mental powers dashed by six Thundering Phantasms and loud thunder rumbled in every corner of its body.
The dragon dropped to the ground with a whimper. Its soul had already been severely damaged by the Lord of Glory, and it had dropped by two levels. Saleen's Thundering Phantasm burst at the same time, one-upping the dragon.
The dragon was not able to use dragon's breath after its soul was severely damaged again. Dragon tongue magic was totally out of the question.
Saleen shot an icicle from the Thunder Dragon Blaster at the wound that was connected to the chain.
The dragon flinched, and its entire tail was frozen. High temperature lightning burst, and the dragon's bone actually snapped.
Dragon bones were one of the hardest materials in existence that still possessed exceptional flexibility. Otherwise, they would not be so strong.Any living being of exceptional strength had bones made of the toughest materials, which alchemists loved the most.
The dragon's tail was frighteningly thick. It would not be able to lift a 600 meter tall hill up otherwise. However, under the lightning icicle's attack, the tail was no longer able to sustain the weight of the hill and snapped, sending the hill crashing into the ground.
Agares escaped somewhere near the dragon. He held a black dagger, which he threw hard and hit the gap between the dragon's scales.
The rainbow-like colored light around the dragon's body disappeared. The dragon then began to twitch all over. The pain-inducing pharmaceutical worked.
Its damaged soul was unable to take the pain, and Saleen was able to hear the dragon's wail from the depths of its soul.
A level ten mage joined with a level ten assassin to assault a level 11 dragon, which perished with the help of equipment.
Agares leapt onto the dragon and extended his hand, retrieving the dagger. Saleen stayed on the ground and put the 200 meter dragon tail into his Starline Ring.
With the dragon on the ground, Saleen and Agares worked together to dismantle it. The 101 star figures below ground also dug their way up to help Saleen.
The assassins did not help at all. Agares knew that Saleen had an astonishing number of figures. If he called for help from the assassins, Saleen would simply summon even more figures.
It was more prudent for him to hold back for now, as Saleen would be more courteous as well.
Seeing how Agares did not ask anything for help, and he was the only one carving materials from the dragon, Saleen refrained from using the Puppet Constellation. Otherwise, there would be thousands of puppets tearing the dragon apart, and Agares would get even less from the dead dragon.
Agares knew his boundaries, and Saleen had no intention of wasting time. He only took what he wanted the most. The chain that locked the dragon up was incredibly resilient.
While dragon's fangs were capable of cutting most materials, the chain's quality was spoken for by the fact that the dragon had been unable to get itself free.
The Winged Skull's second weapon was a flail. The reason Saleen had been unable to craft one for the Winged Skull was because the chain needed was difficult to come by.
If he had not traded the Lance of Order away because he needed the Signet of Silence, Saleen would have destroyed it to craft a weapon for the Winged Skull. He had now finally come across the ideal material to do so.
Agares' target was the dragon's fang and claws. An assassin's weapon needed to be forged repeatedly. Only materials of such quality would be able to keep up with an assassin of Agares' level.
The dragon's scales beneath the abdomen were ideal materials for crafting soft armor for assassins. Saleen was after the sinew and blood. The hardest scales on the back of the dragon would serve well for crafting heavy armor.
The star figures worked with them and dismantled the dragon in no time.
The power of magic scrolls crafted using blood from a level 13 dragon would be several times more potent. Agares knew that dragon blood was precious, but he did not have the equipment to carry it.
Even if he got any, the quality of the dragon blood would gradually degrade. It would be better to just let Saleen have it, earning himself a favor.
The two men had an unspoken consensus and only took what they needed. Saleen was wary of Agares' dagger. Dragons were known for their resilience and ample life force, and it was unable to endure Agares' pain-inducing pharmaceuticals.
While Saleen had severely damaged the dragon's soul before Agares hit it, the power of the pharmaceuticals was very frightening. It would be fatal to just have one's skin pricked by Agares.
