453 Double Faced Strong Calvary Part 1 (2/2)
The soldiers could look through the crystal to see things that were extremely far away. The effect was similar to an Alchemy telescope. Such equipment required its user to be at least a magic apprentice while an alchemy telescope could be used by anyone.
The weapons in the heavy cavalry's hands were spears that were outdated. They were about four meters long, but seemed a little short. Saleen saw a circular spearhead that was inlaid with purple crystals, it obviously could shoot some magic. Even if it was only level one magic, it was annoying.
Saleen saw that the enemy used such expensive equipment and he was even more certain that there must be a huge power behind the bunch of robbers. He would not be surprised if it was the Holy See.
There were three parts of the Holy See. The part in charge by the pope definitely would not be linked up with the robber, but those in the detention center definitely could.
Saleen was not worried though. Although they were close to Tanggulasi, the border was a piece of Tanggulasi Empire's abandoned land. Holy See did not care much about this area, the entire land only had a Red Shirt Church.
There were multiple spells cast on the swordsmen's body and they were not affected by the sound wave anymore. They quickly readjusted their breathing and waited for Saleen's order.
Lex did not move at all. She was still meditating in the carriage.
”Four-hundred meters, three-hundred meters, two-hundred meters...”
”Shoot!” Saleen gave the order to attack calmly.
Such alchemy crossbows that were produced by the royals could scarily shoot a range of eight-hundred meters. They were definitely a weapon made to kill. No matter how strong the enemies' attack was, it did not mean that they could ignore the attack of alchemy crossbows. The item was made for attacking cities and it was awfully expensive. Normally, a regiment only had five.
At a distance of two-hundred meters, the alchemy crossbow was indestructible. Even if Saleen cast ten layers of water shield, he would not dare to take the attack.
Saleen was not a sorcerer yet. It was impossible for him to calculate faster than the speed of an alchemy crossbow. There was also a pattern on how magic was shot, it could be easily calculated. The attack for an alchemy crossbow had no pattern though, any miscalculation meant death. The four alchemy crossbows that Lex had prepared obviously did not stop there, the four arrows whimpered while they flew out. The swordsmen dissemble the crossbow stand quickly and changed into new weapons.
The weapon were all cross guns. Cross guns were specialized weapons that were used to break cavalry. The horizontal blade was sharp, with a light hook. It would be able to chop off the horses' hooves.
Four one meter long arrows flew out rotating, the surface of the arrow brought a black air current and made a weird noises. The speed of the four arrows were too fast. They traveled the distance of two-hundred meters in the blink of an eye. The knights on the front row had yet to response and they were shot through continuously.
Poof, gah….
The rotating metal arrow crushed the knights' magic armor and made a huge hole through their chests and flew to the back.
The arrows were cast with three spells, the Sharpening spell, the Sundering spell, and the Element Counteraction spell. These intermediate spells were cast at the last moment, only people who had a few grand mages around like Lex could easily use such a battle strategy.
The four arrows went through six bodies continuously before dropping to the ground. The twenty magic heavy cavalrymen rolled onto the ground and the rest of the heavy cavalry was shocked. They sped up with all their strength to rush towards the campsite.
They were too worried. Not many armies would have the equipment to be able to shoot a crossbow that could go through six sets of magic armor. The cost of it was way higher than those higher level magic armors.
Lex only had a hundred of them in two elite swordsmen's camps. Half of them were left in Bitter Water Prefecture and the rest were in Metatrin City.
The swordsmen stepped back and let the magic chariots go forward. On the magic chariot, there was two grade-5 mages and two grade-4 mages. The mages that Lex brought with her had been following her since she was six. This was Qin Empire's imperial mage regulation. The direct line of royal descendants would be followed by mages.
Losing one tenth of the power, was only the beginning. The mages in the magic chariot were observing the distance. On a location one meter away, there was suddenly a dragon wall.
The wall was an example of Ground Magic. The spell was first created to resist floods, but it was a good one to deal with heavy cavalry. A wall suddenly popped out of nowhere, it was two meters high and horizontally blocked where the cavalry was charging forward.
The heavy cavalry pulled the horses' reins and leaped, the warhorses that could carry heavy loads jumped over the two meter high wall and continued to dash forward.
Light cavalry dared not jump over the wall, but the heavy cavalry with magic armor flew over like feathers.
What greeted them on the other side were clusters of stone spears.
