Chapter 43 - Ascension! (1/2)

It was now time for the 4th round, Kayn was absolutely confident in winning this tournament. The contestants walked onto the stage and the battles turned chaotic as usual. The fights and the rounds, in general, would end faster with fewer people now.

Bardock was healed fully and saw a good ZenKai boost for his difficulties. However, he had no tail now, which would provide him with some assurance during fights.

”Ohhh! Pikkon has won another battle and will proceed to the next round!” The Mushroom headed announcer said loudly.

It was now Gine's turn, she was fighting a guy named Froug, who was South Kai's disciple. As for his looks, he was a humanoid frogman. Kayn told her that even if she went Kaio-Ken x4, she wouldn't have a chance against this guy.

As soon as the match started, she activated Kaio-Ken x10, which was enough to put him down. Absolute strength would end a battle really quick in the Dragonball world. This victory caused King Kai to gloat and brag more. This only served to piss off South Kai, but this wasn't his strongest disciple.

He only had one disciple left in the tournament and his name was Torbie. Kayn had to admit that Torbie had a cool design. Sadly, this guy was fighting Bardock as his next fight; South Kai was 100% certain that Torbie could beat Bardock with ease.

Kayn now had to fight himself, he was fighting a guy named Maraikoh, who was West Kai's disciple. In terms of looks, he resembled a rip off of Spyro, but he stood straight up like a human and humanoid beast.

”Little weakling, you better surrender, haha! I'm going to win this tournament after I fight Pikkon. Afterward, I'll be the strongest of South Kai's disciples, hahaha!” Maraikoh laughed as if he had already won the battle.

”Ready, Fight!”

”Prepare for a hurting, weakling!” Maraikoh lunged at Kayn and punched toward his face. Kayn shook his head and grabbed Maraikoh's fist.

”What!?” Maraikoh was stunned, but it didn't end there.

Kayn pulled Maraikoh in, then started slapping him rapidly before he fainted and flew out of the ring into a wall.

”Winner, Kayn!” The Mushroomed headed man said.

”This is impossible!” West Kai's Monocle fell off his face in shock. Maraikoh's strength was 30 million from what the measuring machine had shown, how was he beaten so easily?

West Kai calmed down, it was only in the low millions; this was nothing compared to Pikkon, whose strength had bypassed 1 billion.

”Haha! It looks like you only have 1 disciple left in this tournament, just throw in the towel!” King Kai, of course, found time to gloat towards West Kai.

”Pikkon's strength is multiple times stronger than Maraikoh, you can talk when you've won the tournament!” West Kai pouted and didn't say anymore, but this only caused King Kai to chuckle.

The battles continued, it was finally Bardock's turn. This time, his opponent was one of the strongest in the tournament, Torbie! Torbie walked on the stage with an indifferent expression.

Kayn already evaluated that even if Bardock turned into an Oozaru, he wouldn't win against this guy. Bardock had gotten some really good Zenkai boost, his base state was already about to surpass Gine's.

”This will be the last 2 fights before we enter the next round, I hope everyone enjoys it!' The announcer spoke loudly and with full enthusiasm.

”Saiyan, you can't win. You can't transform anymore, so this is your opportunity to leave the stage unharmed.” Torbie's voice was devoid of emotion, he looked like the serious type but his voice and words proved that he really was.

”Sorry, but I'm not exactly the surrendering type!” Bardock smirked. He answered and stared into Torbie's eyes with strong determination.

”You can't say I didn't warn you, you'll understand true strength after this fight.” Torbie's voice didn't change; remaining cold and distant.

”The next matches will be Torbie Vs Bardock and Olibu vs Caidus!”

”Let the match begin, now!”

As soon as the match started, Torbie disappeared on the spot. Bardock was briefly stunned, then put up his guard as he looked around the arena cautiously.

”Looking for me!” Torbie's voice appeared behind Bardock. Bardock turned to shoot an energy attack but he was punched across the arena before he could do anything.

”Damn!” Bardock quickly recovered and stood up, he powered up a huge blue energy attack and shot it at Torbie. This was the same attack he used against Frieza's death ball before his demise.

Torbie didn't bother to dodge and stuck out his hand. The attack soon arrived and exploded on his palms before turning into a mini dust cloud that dispersed rapidly. However, Bardock didn't sit still to see the results of his attack, and he arrived by the side of Torbie.

Torbie had already picked on Bardock's movements. Bardock sent a spin kick toward Torbie's waist, but his leg was grabbed.

”It's useless, completely useless, I'll really have to let you understand how weak you are!” Torbie was angered by Bardock's efforts, he couldn't understand why he was trying to win against someone he simply couldn't win against.

”I don't give up, but I guess that's what someone like you would do!” Bardock sent his other foot in for another kick, this time it connected, knocking Torbie away a few feet.

Bardock burst with energy and charged at Torbie who just recovered. He still had that indifferent look on his face. ”Give up? You'd only be wasting your time fighting against something you can't win against, I'll demonstrate it to you!”

As Bardock was charging over, Torbie charged himself, but he was faster! He sent his knee into Bardock's face in a blink of an eye.

”Ugh!” Bardock g.r.o.a.n.e.d as he was about to be knocked away, but as he was about to be knocked flying away, he was pulled in by the leg. Torbie slammed Bardock onto the stage constantly like a rag dog.

Bardock howled in pain before he was kicked in the stomach and sent flying again. He landed on the arena without any further movement.

Gine clenched her fist, she was finding this hard to watch. She swore that if she fought this Beatle looking guy, she would do the same thing to him.

”Oh, no! This doesn't look so good for contestant Bardock, has he fainted?” The announcer seemed concerned.
