Chapter 21 & 22: Why Hello There Fatty (Part I & Ii) (1/2)
Karnage : Here you go! Cliffhanger warning!
Chapter 21 & 22 -
[Good, Listen up what I had in mind was-] -Sol
[Uh! Wait please one moment young warrior!] -Aereis
Aereis hurriedly interrupted Sol as he had something to say and Sol could see the urgency.
[Huh? What is it?] -Sol
[My daughter she's in here! Please let us find her first!] -Aereis
[Well considering how the room is, that's no problem 2nd Queen please meditate and Aereis you go ahead and keep watch. However use of high rank magic is forbidden your Highness, I don't know how the S-Rank Queen would react to strong magic so don't do anything too drastic. I don't think the Queen is completely useless as to not pick up on heavy mana fluctuations.
The mana well gives us some level of protection from you being scanned, I also noticed there wasn't a single Bloodmana Wasp in here, it probably affects their senses too much and were pushed to the outer layers of the hive. Time is not an issue, just wait until the Wasp moves her over to where you guys were and then let me know once you've retrieved her. Also don't forget that you must wait till she gets sorted into the human category, do not become impatient and rush out there and spoil the entire operation] -Sol
Sol firmly laid his boundaries to them both as he definitely wouldn't let them screw up everything.
[T-Thank you!! I'll do as you say!] -Aereis
[Don't mention it, don't bother me for a while if that's the case. I have a few things I need to do and my success increases the success of this mission. Remember when your daughter has been found make sure to come let me know, let's not take too long in here] -Sol
Aereis hurriedly nodded as he appreciated Sol's compa.s.sionate nature, a normal man would no longer want to linger around here and he knew this. The impression he got from Sol was that even if all the beasts in here were to come charging after him, he would probably have a way to kill them or escape for sure and that gave him some strength.
He felt this way because from beginning to end Sol had an indescribable confidence within his eyes and it exuded a heavy sort of pressure. That coupled with his incredible battle prowess, Aereis had subconsciously come to trust the young lad's decisions. He asked Sol with a serious face-
[You're going somewhere?] -Aereis
[No, it's just I have to make a few poisons to take care of the Queen] -Sol
[Okay, then I'll go await my daughter and then I'll save her and we can leave this wretched place!!] -Aereis
[Agreed] -Sol
The man wasted no more words and moved towards the entrance of the place, he sat cross legged and peered through towards the pile of soft armored creatures. Worry ever present in his eyes as well as vigilance, Sol understood that this was the reason for the man's restless nature. It seemed he didn't want his daughter to die in here at all in this forsaken place.
Sol moved to a corner near the mana well and sent a bit of mana to his runic ring, he immediately took out all of the poison powdered bags that had a total of 10 remaining. He took out the vials of poison from the Queen Basilisk as well as a bunch of medical herbs from it and began making poisons. He used the surplus of medicinal herbs and poisons he acquired from the disgusting thief and decided to use them all to kill the Wasp Queen and her hive.
He crushed and ground, mixed and added. His hands moved quickly and his eyes even more so, bits of sweat protruded on his brows but he made sure not a single drop fell inside his preparation cauldron. The once diluted poison regained it's former power as a first grade insect killing agent, he powderized the Queen Basilisk's venom and integrated it into the poison and gave it an even more terrifying spin.

Lieren's POV :
The first time I saw this golden-haired young man, I thought he was an angel that came to save me. That sort of appearance could only ever belong to such a person, like an angel straight out of a painting that even my appearance can hardly match. He saved my life and I knew that he was a good person....well.....until just now when he started making poisons.
I watched the entire process with shock, I had never seen someone so well versed in poisons. So much so that I was afraid to even breathe the entire time, the scent of the poison scared me half to death and the strange thing is it had a sweet fragrant aroma that made my head go slightly dizzy. The young man gave me a cautioning look as well as a pill and told me to walk a further distance away, naturally I obeyed and moved a bit further away.
[Look at your hands] -Sol
He told me to look at my hands and when I looked down to my surprise, my veins had awoken to the poison and turned slightly darker. I was so scared I almost fainted, I quickly popped the pill in my mouth and almost instantly I exhaled a purple gas which terrified me. I casted my medicinal water spell of low grade and helped flush out the effects.
When did I even get poisoned!! I learned a new fear for this friend of Liore and Julias called ”Sol”. The most terrifying part of it all, is that he stood over the cauldron and I had not seen him take a pill from start to finish. How can someone be immune to something like that? He didn't even cough once! I couldn't help but look at him dumbfounded.
Renissa had taken me in as a disciple and had trained me when I had awoken my Dual Element and learned Water Magics, naturally I had learned some minor medical knowledge as well. I didn't have much to do as a Queen and so I devoted my time to learning more about medicine, I learned about the difficult nature of poison and how one must be very careful when making it.
That never mattered to me though, I never wanted to dabble with poison and medicine was what I wanted to learn but you can't learn one without the other. That's why I know perfectly well just how skilled this young man is and he's quite probably at Medical Saint Renissa's level.....or I suspect he may be even higher. I have no idea where our city gained such an outstanding youth since my absence but it certainly is a good thing....I think.
I had never seen or heard of anyone like Sol who could create poisons so easy and naturally and the thought of it was quite terrifying. He moved without any wasted movements and he didn't even need to look at the herbs in his hand for too long to know what they were.
He seemed like a mad scientist as he called out the names of the herbs and various poisons from books, He would criticize the basic poisons from the books and sometimes laugh, I could have sworn I had even seen him smile as he made various types of poison. For hours it went on, he had me use a low rank wind magic spell to lock the scent in and I had no arguments there at all.
His face looked very pleased and a sinister glint flashed through his eyes, it was only for a split second but as sure as day I did not miss it. Even now as he looks at the poison he seems incredibly amused. I had to ask if everything was okay and make sure the poison didn't affect his mind, I was prepared to cast healing magics as I looked at him.
[S-Sol is everything okay?] -Lieren
[...Hahaha...Yes my lady..haha] -Sol
As Sol spoke his excitement leaked out to me and he seemed as though he couldn't hold it in.
[A-Are you sure..you seem a bit too.....I-I don't know....excited?] -Lieren
[Haha, that's because revenge is near. This poison is sure to work] -Sol
Hearing his confident speech, I couldn't help but to wonder-
[R-Revenge? What sort of poison is it?] -Lieren
[Indeed...What kind?.. I have no idea] -Sol
(Eh?...ehehe...hehe..) -Lieren
I couldn't help but laugh and wonder why didn't the Queen Wasp eat me sooner. Were I not a mage, I probably would have fainted already. This kid....has a bit of a reckless side.
End of POV.
**
Sol had just finished his poisons, in front of him were 10 bags of powdered poison that were wrapped in cloth and a single larger bag that was wrapped in a tiny piece of the S-Rank Queen Basilisk's scales and it's color tinged green. Sol had managed to shake loose a scale from the white piece of scale skin and used it as the container for the poison he created to kill the Queen Wasp. Absolutely nothing else would hold the poison he had created especially for her.
Just as he was musing to himself and was quite happy with the poison he made for her, he realized the 2nd Queen had a look of fear in her eyes as she stared at him. Sol cleared his throat awkwardly once more returning to his serious appearance and put them away. As the two were trying not to create a awkward atmosphere, a hurried voice came quite timely -
[Sol! I got her!! I had to wait for a few hours but finally I got her! Please do you have anymore of those nutrient pills?] -Aereis
Sol turned to look over and saw Aereis carrying a young girl about 15 years old, she seemed malnourished as Aereis and Lieren had been, he didn't think too much and quickly threw over the pills to Aereis.
Aereis quickly fed her and her lifeless eyes after a few minutes regained some light, Lieren happily aided her with Water Magics and with the combination of those two and the aura of the mana well, the young girl regained a bit of her composure after about another hour.
[Mina! Mina! Can you hear me!] -Aereis
Though the girl looked fine on the outside, she appeared to be incredibly woozy still and could only groan in response. It was obvious she wasn't as strong as both Lieren and Aereis and would need more time to recover. Sol looked at her clothing and noticed she wore a veil and had a runic ring matching Aereis' ring and was obviously a n.o.ble as well. Sol didn't pry into their business and immediately begun speaking.
[Okay now that we have everything, here is how we are going to leave here, it's very simple] -Sol
Aereis hearing Sol speak, brought his daughter Mina who he held in his arms nearer to Sol and Lieren reluctantly moved closer while casting a wind purification spell near her nose as she looked at Sol warily. Aereis seeing this wanted to laugh but kept his serious face and looked at Sol, he had felt the dread of the poison just by being within it's proximity.
[Aereis, Can you tell me what the damage range on this is?] -Sol
As Sol spoke he took out an Explosive Fire Orb and showed it to Aereis.
[T-These huh! These are quite powerful, one of these should create an explosion big enough to cover this room but that's not the scary part. The flames burn rather wildly and it gets hotter per second, it lasts for at least an hour and if you had a few more you could easily demolish this nest] -Aereis
[...It's too powerful for what I had in mind..I'll have to light the poison by hand...] -Sol
[Wait! You want to reduce it's power? Why didn't you say so I can help with that!] -Aereis
[You can change it's power setting?] -Sol
Sol was surprised but Aereis shook his head.
[Not up but down, I possess the Fire Affinity and I can easily drain a bit of power from this...o...b.. -Aereis
[Good, then we meet the requirements! Follow me and make as less noise as possible] -Sol
The two nodded and followed Sol quietly, they quickly left the room and using some light wind magic to move the beast corpses bit by bit to create cover leaving the Queen's nest wasn't hard.
Sol began walking up the hive followed by the two and the unconscious Mina. Sol placed the ten bags a good distance apart from one another as he walked upward along the hive and skipped most of the corridors, as he approached the 4th pocket he turned around and warned them both.
[Inside here is the corpse of a S-Rank Basilisk Queen, here would provide good cover for you to hide. When the Wasp Queen's scream goes off all Wasps will come flooding towards her, however if they sense a Dantian close by they might be agitated and want to attack. However that would be the case if you were in any other pocket besides this one.
The Wasps know not to enter this 4th pocket because they believe the Queen Basilisk is still alive and they won't come in here. If they sense you they still won't come and give priority to their Queen and rush towards her. If my plan goes well, then we will all clear out this place easily and without harm. Wait here for a moment I'll be back....oh and do not offend the corpse of the Queen Basilisk] -Sol
As Sol said these few lines he immediately sped through the hive to collect all the Explosive Fire Orbs.
[Don't...offend it?] -Aereis
(What a strange person...When he said not to offend it, he was quite serious) -Lieren
They glanced at the Queen Basilisk and a bit of fear couldn't help but leak into their hearts, though it was pinned to the wall and missing it's fangs they were still terribly afraid. The Basilisk Species itself was already terrifying, but a Winged Golden-Blooded Queen Basilisk was different like Heaven and Earth. After calming their fears the two chatted for a while to pa.s.s the time, somewhere along the line Mina had regained consciousness but couldn't move or speak still and just remained there quietly.
**
After a few minutes Sol then returned to the 4th pocket and directly handed the Explosive Fire Orbs over to Aereis as well as the Crystal Orb Detonator.
[Here they are, please lower them so that the explosion itself is minimal] -Sol
Aereis gently placed Mina with her back against the wall, he grabbed hold of the orbs and placed his hands one by one on the orbs. The orbs lit up and one could see the essence being absorbed by Aereis, the orbs grew dimmer and dimmer and then Aereis stopped. Sol looked at it, and asked it to be lowered again and Aereis did so.
[These should fit your need just fine] -Aereis
As Sol collected the orbs he could feel the reduction in power and was quite pleased. The rest of the group looked at Sol intently as they knew the rest of the plan would come next but they still didn't know what it was yet.
[Thanks this is good] -Sol
Sol then looked at them both seriously and spoke.
[Okay, my survival will depend on your success. Someone has to agitate the Queen and it obviously should be me because none of you can handle this poison without being poisoned and I have a higher chance of living against Bloodmana Wasps] -Sol
The two nodded but still had a bit of a pained and bitter face, he was after all their savior and he had to place himself in danger once more not to mention how young he was it really made them ashamed.
Aereis looked at him seriously and Lieren bit her lip but the two didn't want to leave the burden to him completely, however they didn't have the advantages Sol had nor did they want to interrupt his plans as they realized he was quite intelligent and had a strategic mind. They understood their interference could very well be the thing that endangers him and do more harm than good. This left them no other choice but to agree reluctantly.
Seeing them nod obediently, Sol continued.
[Good. When I go down in the Queen's room, I will poison her and that will attract the attention of all Bloodmana Wasps, they will come speeding towards her. When that happens you must absolutely make sure that all Wasps have entered the hive and once they have pa.s.sed you safely, you must immediately leave the 4th pocket and go towards the exit
Once they've pa.s.sed you they most likely will not turn back to come after you an instead urgently rush to their Queen. You should remember where I've placed all ten powdered bags right? You need to use Wind Magic to keep track of the Wasps and once most of the Wasps fill those areas you must immediately crush this white orb and detonate the Explosive Fire Orbs.
Once you do that, at the entrance use your most powerful Wind spell and send air to force the explosion downwards into the hive. The Fire Orbs will burn the poisoned bags and make this entire hive a death trap of poison for them.
Even if some managed to make it to the Queen, if I'm near the mana well they won't even be able to sense me. Even if they do manage to sense me, It will probably be a very few Bloodmana Wasps that survive and I'm confident in killing them without problems.
Between the Fire and Poison none of them will survive, this was the reason I needed the Fire Orbs weakened, so that the plan doesn't backfire and trap me inside the hive. The original Explosive Fire Orbs were much too powerful to carry out this plan, what I needed was fire not an explosion.
Sol's original plan was to poison the 2nd Queen to suppress her dantian, bring her out safely and detonate the Fire Orbs resulting in an easy win, however he had to change it when Aereis and his daughter came into the picture and created this method instead.
All I need is the Flame element itself to burn the bags without me actually being there. I should be absolutely safe because of how I've placed them and the Fire should out before it even gets to me who will be in the mana well. The fire shouldn't be enough to even reach or harm the Queen, however my poison will and that way we all survive] -Sol
After they heard the plan they were incredibly excited, there was no risk for Sol as they thought it would be if everything went without a hitch but a knot still existed in their hearts. Would it really go that smoothly? They couldn't help but think about the ”what ifs” and then they became nervous once more. As if reading their faces Sol laughed and spoke with a grin.
[Don't worry my poison will kill them all, you just need to be out the cave when that happens and be alive to do your part] -Sol
They forgot about the ”what ifs” when they remembered the poison, and instantly their priorities changed. This kid should be fine they thought to themselves. Anyone capable of creating something like that and not being killed in the process should be absolutely fine. Mina stared through her veil at Sol and a warm light flashed through her eyes, however afterward she quickly fell asleep.
Sol quickly left the three and decided not to waste anymore time, Aereis and Lieren bid their good lucks and they prepared themselves. They only had a simple part to do, they didn't want to fail it at all and Lieren immediately began casting a minor Wind Magic spell called ”Song of the Wind”. Her hands lit up and sent a gust of wind from it, the gust dispersed and spread through the hive and she could sense any minor activity.
**
Sol scattered through the hive strategically placing the Explosive Fire Orbs, making sure that they were well fixed in place and wouldn't roll around when the enraged Wasps came. Then he took out all of the medicinal wine he had left as well as all the alcohol from the thief's runic ring and spread them throughout the hive near the Explosive Fire Orbs.
