Chapter 58 - They Are Enemies Who Are, Now, at a Truce (2/2)

“Yes, that’s right! I’m married to your father and he’s such an exceptional man. Why do I have to cling onto somebody less than your father? I’m not an idiot!”

Pei Zichen agreed with what she said. His father was excellent! Who would abandon his father and cling onto his uncle!

“Then, why did my aunt tell me that you’re clinging onto my uncle?” Pei Zichen did not understand why his aunt said like that.

“She’s paranoid!”

“That’s possible too!” Pei Zichen nodded his head in agreement.

“Yes!” Lu Man tried to sound like what she said was indeed true.

“I see that you’re not a liar. I’ll trust you. But, I’m telling you now, I’ll never forgive you if you break our agreement!” Pei Zichen was the heir of the Pei family. Although he was only six years old, he was borned with prestigious blood in him. He was always arrogant and condescending. His threat was strong indeed. No one dared to look down on him!

“No problem!”

“Fine!” Pei Zichen trusted her.

“Here’s to our peaceful and happy life from now on!” Lu Man stretched her hand out toward him.

“Don’t you be so happy! I’m not going to get rid of you now but still I’ll ruin your relationship with my father! We’re still enemies!” He replied arrogantly. He would never allow them to get any closer to each other. What if his father fell in love with her? Then, his father would never let her go even if his mother came home and she was willing to leave.

Pei Zichen had really put a lot of thoughts into it. He was considering all kinds of things for his mother.

“Fine! We’re enemies who are at a truce now.” Lu Man felt that he was indeed very adorable! Was there anybody who would announce to their enemies directly that they would think of all kinds of ways to frame them and ask them to be careful?

Pei Zichen then shook his hand with her with a sense of satisfaction.

“Since we’ve made our decision, could you please go back to sleep?”

“No, I’m not going. You don’t own this place. You have no right to ask me to leave.”

Lu Man was speechless.

“Could you please not be so disobedient?”

“I’m borned like that!”

Lu Man did not know how to respond to that.

“Then, you just keep it up! It’s nice that I get somebody to stay with me!” Lu Man could not make him leave. So, she had no choice but to allow him to kneel there. She wanted to see how long he could remain kneeling there.

“Do you feel extremely happy and grateful because I’m staying with you here?” After a short while, Pei Zichen was bored so he asked her.

“I’m not only happy and grateful but I even have a guardian with me!”

“What is a guardian?”

“With you here, your ancestors do not dare to appear and scare me. You’re indeed my guardian, aren’t you?” Lu Man wanted to scare him.

But, Pei Zichen was not scared at all. He seemed proud too. “That’s for sure!”

What kind of kid was that?

Lu Man had only kneeled for a short while and she already could not even take it. What more a young boy like him? He was just a kid who was spoiled since the day he was borned. It was not even ten minutes before he spoke again. “Aren’t your legs sore?”

“No.” Lu Man shook her head.

“Impossible!” He had only kneeled there for a short while and he could feel the soreness in his legs. How could she feel nothing?

“That’s true! I don’t feel any soreness. I might’ve kneeled here for a long time that I feel nothing now. I’m not sure whether I can move after this.” Lu Man was worried.

Pei Zichen stood up quickly when she heard that she might not be able to move later on.
