Lu Man replied nonchalantly, “Fine.”

Then, she went to prepare breakfast.

Although he claimed that he was not a picky eater, Lu Man still made a few more choices for him.

Firstly, she cooked some porridge with the rice cooker. Then, she started to prepare other food.

The kitchen was not enclosed and hidden. Pei Xiuyuan kept his phone and watched her after she went into the kitchen. He saw how she busied herself for his sake. He was rather pleased with what he was seeing, smiling happily.

When the porridge was cooked, Lu Man was done cooking too and started to serve food. Suddenly, a tall shadow came over her. She was shocked. She murmured in her heart. ‘Why does that man love to make sudden movements?’

“I’ll serve the food.” He stretched out his hands.

“Go and sit down. I’ll do it!”

“Fine, my wife.” As a gentleman and husband, he needed to obey his wife’s order.

How he addressed her as his wife frightened Lu Man. Lu Man nearly dropped the plate in her hands. She did not know why he would accept her as his wife given that they were strangers to each other. He called her his wife so naturally as if they had been husband and wife for many years.

Lu Man was wearing a round neck and sleeveless singlet. Her chest was revealed clearly every time she bent down to serve the food.

Pei Xiuyuan watched the scene in front of him calmly. It seemed like Lu Man was just showing off her beauty in front of him by walking to and fro.

The sight was too attractive. It was so early in the morning. Pei Xiuyuan’s eyes darkened.

There were both Chinese and Western dishes. There were porridge, stir-fried tofu, and vegetables and stir-fried tomatoes with eggs for Chinese-style dishes. On the other hand, there were milk, coffee, sandwich, pasta, fried eggs, bacon, and fruit salad for Western-style dishes. It was indeed a feast. The table was filled with food.

Pei Xiuyuan got up and pulled out the chair for Lu Man when she wanted to take a seat.

“Thank you.” Women always admired men who acted courteously.

“It’s me who should thank you. You’ve prepared a great feast for me.” He leaned toward her and lowered his head. His hot breath was against her white neck.

Lu Man froze uneasily.

Pei Xiuyuan let her go soon. He knew how to act around her. He would not make her uneasy.

“Why don’t you ask your friend to join us?” He switched the topic so that he could eliminate the awkwardness they had felt just now.

“She has returned to her hometown.”

“Oh…”

“Let’s eat.”

“Fine.”

They had a moment of silence when they had their meal together.

“Didn’t you say that you’re not a picky eater?” Lu Man found that he had left the green peppers on his plate. The green peppers were picked out.

“Green peppers are full of iron. Women should eat more of them so that they will be blessed with a rosy complexion. I especially left them for you.” Pei Xiuyuan then put the green peppers in her bowl.

Lu Man was speechless.

His mischievous behavior changed her impression of him. It made her less nervous as she now knew that he was a picky eater and he was just like everyone else. He was also an ordinary person. He was not so superior that people could not get near him.

She did not understand why he would dislike the green peppers when she was eating them herself. The green peppers were indeed delicious!

“I don’t like to eat green peppers but you love them. We’re well suited to each other. We’re destined to be together.”

2Lu Man almost choked on her food after hearing what he said.

Clearly, they had different eating habits and they did not even share any common hobby. How could he say that they were destined to be together?

“Didn’t you say that you have left the green peppers for me?” She was implying that he had lied about them just now. He did not leave the green peppers especially for her. He had left them there because he did not want to eat them.

“That’s right. I realize that you love them. So, I picked them out especially for you.”

“How did you know that I love eating green peppers?” He still did not want to admit it.
