“Where to?” Lu Man replied, foolishly. His reaction gave her a great shock. She was still in a blur and she could not recover her senses.

“To the Civil Affairs Bureau.”

“Why?” Clearly, Lu Man was still in a blur.

“To register our marriage.”

Lu Man was stunned again.

Two hours later, Lu Man felt like she was dreaming when she saw the small red book in her hand. Technically, she was in a daze the second he agreed to marry her. She wanted to pinch her thigh to wake herself up!

She made sure that the names on the book belonged to her and Pei Xiuyuan. She had achieved her dream, which she always yearned for strongly. Now, she pinched her thigh hard. Soon, she gritted her teeth when all she felt was pain.

“What are you doing?” The man—Pei Xiuyuan looked at her skeptically. Why did she abuse herself all of a sudden?

“I want to make sure that it’s real,” Lu Man replied, honestly.

Pei Xiuyuan was stunned. Suddenly, he laughed aloud. That laughter was sweet just like thirst-quenching spring water. It was rather a comfortable feeling.

Lu Man’s lips twitched slightly. Although he was not mocking her, he was laughing at her silly reactions. How could she be happy about that?

She looked at Pei Xiuyuan. “Are you really the CEO of Pei Enterprise—Pei Xiuyuan?”

Did they coincidentally share the same name?

“Yes.”

Lu Man scanned him from the bottom to the top when she received his positive answer. Lastly, her gaze fell upon his head.

Pei Xiuyuan still remained calm even though he was being scanned like a specimen. “What are you looking at?”

“To see if there’s something wrong with your head. Is there any hole?” Otherwise, why on earth a CEO of an enterprise marry a stranger that easily?

Pei Xiuyuan lowered his head suddenly.

“What?”

“To let you take a look clearly. To see if there’s anything wrong with my head.”

Lu Man was speechless.

“Is there something wrong? Is there a hole?”

“Yes, there is.”

“Where?”

She pointed at his ears.

Pei Xiuyuan’s lips curled slightly. She was indeed funny. Would their married life become funnier in the future? Suddenly, his eyes darkened and his smile deepened. He seemed both handsome and bad like that.

It was sunset. His smile was captivating under the setting sun.

Lu Man understood now how a single smile could dazzle the entire city.

That man was well-bred and handsome. He came from a prestigious family too. She could affirm that there was nothing wrong with him from their conversation just now. It even puzzled her more.

“Why do you want to marry me?” Why did a person as prestigious as him want to marry her?

“I’m lacking a wife and you’re pleasing to the eyes.”

“Is that so? Did you marry me because of that? Isn’t that too random?” Why would somebody hold such an opinion toward marriage? Moreover, he was a rich person. Why was he not afraid of marrying the wrong person and that half of his fortune might be snatched away when they divorced each other in the future.

“It’s not a random choice. I’m serious about our marriage.” His deep voice was just like a fragrance that could penetrate people’s hearts easily. It was irresistible.

All of a sudden, Lu Man did not know how to respond to that.

“Why do you want to marry me?” He looked at her with his dark eyes. Nobody could decipher any feelings or emotions from his eyes.

“I need a husband, a strong and powerful husband. You’re just the right man,” Lu Man replied directly.

His eyes darkened slightly. Pei Xiuyuan had some mixed feelings. “Is it my luck that I’m marrying an honest woman?”
