Lu Man walked to a public square and saw someone asking for donations there. She looked down at the cheque that she was holding tightly in her hand. She smiled bitterly and sarcastically. Then, she went forward and donated the cheque.
How nice would it be if the past could be thrown away just like that cheque?
One month later…
A couple was sitting and facing each other by the window seat. The man was tall and handsome. The woman was graceful and beautiful. It was a captivating sight.
The woman’s facial expression changed drastically after the man said something to her. Then, she picked up her bag and ran out in tears.
However, that man still remained seated. He drank his coffee gracefully. The sunlight of the afternoon shone on him through the window next to him. He appeared like a golden god. He seemed so prestigious that nobody dared to approach him. They could only admire him from afar.
It was time! Now or never!
Lu Man got up and went forward.
“Manman, do you really want to go there?” Hou Qingqing stopped her.
“Of course!” Lu Man tried her best to investigate where he was going for the blind date. It was the moment. It was not the time to retreat!
“But, the woman who was on the blind date with him just now was the mayor’s daughter!” The mayor’s daughter had been defeated too. What more she?
Hou Qingqing did not look down on her best friend. She knew that rich people always searched for partners who were well suited to them.
“She’s been defeated. But, it doesn’t mean that the same will happen to me. Moreover, I want to give it a go even if I’m not suited for him!” She would never know whether she would be able to do so if she did not give it a try. Moreover, it was her last straw. She must give it a try!
Hou Qingqing thought for a while and agreed with her. “Go ahead! Do your best!”
Hou Qingqing grasped her hand again when Lu Man wanted to approach that man.
“Manman, do you really have to do that?” She was nervous and scared.
“Do I have any other way?” Lu Man smiled, bitterly.
Hou Qingqing thought of how things had ended for Lu Man. It was the truth. “That bitch! She will totally be punished for what she has done!”
She had never met a woman who was so wicked. Not only did she rob Lu Man of her fiance but she did not even forgive her or let her go!
Lu Man had extraordinarily beautiful and slim legs. She wore a mini skirt today with a pair of seven-inch high heels. Her beautiful legs became much more captivating and slimmer because of that.
Lu Man walked toward the man in her high heels at a steady pace. The man was drinking his coffee when she walked toward him. He raised his eyes and looked at her. He scanned her from top to bottom without betraying any inner feelings. He remained calm.
She said nothing but sat across from him directly.
If she asked his permission before sitting down in front of him, the man might refuse her company. Then, she would be defeated right there and then.
The man put down the coffee cup and stared at her with his black eyes.
Lu Man was calm but she became nervous all of a sudden. She instinctively clasped her hands together tightly. Her palms soon became sweaty. She suppressed her nervousness and started to talk.
“Are you on a blind date?”
“Yes.”
“That means you need a wife.”
“Yes.”
“I’m lacking a husband too. Would you marry me?”
The man was calm up until that moment. He was stunned. After that, his lips curled slightly. “Fine.”
“Yes?”
Lu Man prepared herself mentally in case she was labeled as an insane person. She had even prepared a lot of ways to persuade him to marry her. Her brain was working ceaselessly when she asked him to marry her. She was planning on using one of her tactics to persuade him to gain the best result.
But, she was stunned when he agreed to marry her right away.
Soon, the entire world seemed to fall into a deep silence.
Her jaws dropped. She appeared silly. It delighted the man. His smile deepened. He raised his hand and took a look at his watch. It was still early.
“Let’s go.”
