”Why is it you?”

Zhu Feng's body began to trembled when he made eye contact with Mu Yi. He was already having a hard time trying to pull out the chair. It was like his fingers had gone weak in the presence of Mu Yi.

”Anong couldn't make it?” Zhu Feng quietly replied, still trying to pull out the chair so he can sit down across from Mu Yi.

”Is that a question or an answer?” Mu Yi crossed his arms and continued to glare at Zhu Feng who was struggling to pull out a chair.

”It's a-a-a...”

”Sit.” Mu Yi growled, he can't bear to continue watching him.

”Yes!” Zhu Feng's strength suddenly returned back to his body. He finally sat down like an obedient child who was going to get a scolding.

”Anong broke her end of the contract already,” Mu Yi flipped through the menu.

Today, Yun Anong was supposed to meet up with him to grab lunch. Instead of coming, she sent Zhu Feng to accompany him. Which wasn't a bad idea either since Mu Yi had a lot of questions for Zhu Feng. He was the only other person who was around Yun Anong for the last seven years.

The information he received from Ace yesterday contained everything she did in the last seven years. Nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary while she was studying aboard. However, there seem to be some events missing in certain timelines. Even someone as talented as Ace couldn't find any more information on it.

It either means Yun Anong had removed that information herself or someone else did. Although, he doubts she could remove all traces about herself.

Then there was Aiden, who was a part of her life for around two years before moving away. According to what he was reading, Aiden was a mixed child and was raised by only his mother. Later on, his father found them and took both of them back to Country Z.

Yun Anong and Aiden relationship were very brief and nothing more than friends. Also, he seemed to have played a significant role in her life. Thanks to him, Yun Anong started smiling and laughing again.

Mu Yi rubbed his eyebrows and sighed out in frustration. He should have been there for her so much earlier but was too afraid to see her. He has no one to blame for but himself for his stupid mistake.

”U-uhmm, the waiter is waiting for you to order...” Zhu Feng whispered, hoping Mu Yi had heard him but at the same time didn't want to come off rubbing him in the wrong way.

Mu Yi looked up from the menu to find Zhu Feng's eyes staring elsewhere, trying to avoid eye contact with him.

”I'll have what he's having,” Mu Yi closed the menu and handed it back to the waiter. He wasn't sure where to start first with this brat.

The whole time since he sat down, Zhu Feng hasn't turned his head once to look at Mu Yi. He had his arms crossed to keep himself from shaking in fear while squirming in his chair.

Zhu Feng body stiffened before finding his voice, ”N-n-no, I wouldn't dare.”

”Good,” Mu Yi leaned forward with his elbows on the table. Then he rested his chin on top of his clasped hands. ”I have questions for you.”

”Y-yes?” Zhu Feng swallowed the saliva building up in his mouth. This must be how Anong feels like when she is around Mu Yi. No wonder she wants to run away every time he shows up. It's too much pressure.

Zhu Feng began to secretly fan himself with his hand. It's scorching out today, but he is inside a fancy restaurant that has the temperature set to 'perfect.' Not too hot nor too cold, in other words, room temperature. Yet, his body was continuously sweating. The more Mu Yi talk, the hotter his body began to feel, and not in a good way.
