197 Whether She Wakes Up or Not... (1/2)

Reminder: Huang Hui Yan (Now changed to Shen Hui Yan after marrying Shen Qi) is Wei Na's mother. Father is Shen Qi. Hui Yan is Huang Zhi Hei's biological sister.

-Outside Wei Na's private hospital room-

Chen Mu was the only doctor whom Hui Yan and Shen Qi fully trusted. When he announced Wei Na's condition, a cloak of confusion and rage rushed through Hui Yan's bloodstream as her legs lost its strength. Shen Qi helped her sit down.

After minutes of awkward silence, Hui Yan's moist lips parted, ”You said within twenty-four hours...so if she doesn't wake up after that what will happen?”

”Then the chances of her waking up will reduce drastically over time. We would have to think of the worst case, death.” Chen Mu said it straightforwardly, even though he knew how much these words meant to her. She was trying to find someone to tell her that Wei Na would be fine. As a doctor and a close friend, he would rather tell her the truth and give her a head up on the situation.

”Twenty-four hours... twenty-four hours...” she mumbled to herself. Shen Qi was worried about his daughter's condition, but more importantly, his wife's reaction to the situation. Wei Na was their only child and they've doted on her greatly since birth. Seeing their daughter laying palely in that hospital bed was too cruel for them.

”Hui Yan, our daughter is an energetic fighter, just like you. She was always healthy, so this time, maybe she's just a little tired and is sleeping longer. Let's wait for her to wake up okay? She's still breathing.” Shen Qi tried to provide her comfort as he folded his fingers to the center of his palm until his fingernails scraped his skin enough for blood to escape.

Hui Yan walked to the girl who was sleeping peacefully like she was at home. She sat down beside her and fixed her slightly disheveled hair.

”Wei Na, mommy is here. I always told you that you took after me and that you're strong. Now is the time to show me that you're a fighter. When you faced your enemies, you were never hesitant to be headstrong. This time, give it 1000% of your strength and beat the grim reaper, okay? Tell that nasty skull with a scythe to come looking for me first.”

Wei Na's hands were stuck between Hui Yan's tightly clasped hands, ”In the twenty-four-hour period, I'll give you justice. I already heard what happened and will never let that fucking bitch run off unharmed, I don't care where or who she is with. I'm going to dig her out and crush her eyeballs. How dare she hurt my precious baby?”

Hui Yan's eyes narrowed as she heard footsteps from behind, ”I'm leaving my daughter with you. If anything happens, contact me immediately. Before I leave, I have a question for you and you must answer me sincerely.”

Bin Guan stood by Wei Na's bedside, waiting for her question. ”Did you mean it when you proposed to her or were it out of pity? This is your one and only chance. I know you proposed right before she fell into a coma. In front of her, right now, I want you to answer me, are you serious about this engagement?”

He responded by walking to the other side of Wei Na's bed, sat down, and held her hands between his palms, ”I am never as serious. Regardless of whether she wakes up from this coma or not, I, Bin Guan, will take her, Shen Wei Na, as my legal wife. I believe she won't leave us. She's always playful and is probably too tired this time, so she is resting longer than usual. I'm going to wait here until she wakes up.”

”When she wakes up, I'll be the first person she sees, hugs, kisses, and says 'yes' to. This ring that I placed on her engagement finger is my promise to her. When she recovers, I'll give her a much better proposal. This one was too quick, and nothing was prepared. I'm not a patient person. For her, though, I have this life and perhaps next life, if it is real, to fall in love with her again and again.”

Hui Yan sighed, ”What if this child doesn't wake up? I know I shouldn't be saying this, but what if she sleeps like this forever?”

”She won't. With all the flower bouquets and wedding planner for her, how could she miss out when she is the bride? If she doesn't wake up, then I'll find a random woman, bring her here, and make her wake up. If she doesn't wake up, I will marry her regardless of everyone else's opinion. Life is meaningless without her. I only want her. She will remain my wife until the day I shut my eyes and get buried six feet underground.”

Bin Guan smiled as he kissed Wei Na's hands, ”So, you, sleepy head, when you feel like you're fully charged already, open your eyes. Everyone is here waiting for you. If not, you might miss out on your own wedding. I won't repeat the words that you want to hear if you don't open your pretty eyes.”

Hui Yan couldn't help but feel moved by his confidence and declaration of love for her. She nodded, ”This son-in-law is approved. I'll leave her in your care. If I don't pull the roots out of that bitch's scalp, burn it with oil, stuff maggots on top of her burnt wounds and dig holes into her head with a driller, I won't be back. If any of the things I said is not done in an equivalent or in an even more extreme way, I won't have the face to see my own daughter when she wakes up! Hmph!”

Shen Qi gave Bin Guan an approving glance before following Hui Yan, ”I'll bring you to that bitch.”

In addition to her queen-like composure, Hui Yan's heels tapped wildly as she gathered all her negative energy, ready to avenge her daughter. 'I'll skin you alive for even having the thoughts of harming any of my family members. Since my daughter has the twenty-four-hour period, I'll torture you for that long and leave you for whoever else wants to beat the crap out of you.'

Shen Qi brought Hui Yan to Huang's underground dungeon, a place where prisoners rot to their death. She stepped into the cell with ten bodyguards; each carrying two boxes of extreme tools that were long stuffed in her tool room. After she married, she decided to leave every one of her inventions in there.

”I never knew that there would be a day where I would use these again. I'll show you what true fear really is.” Her eyes were dark like a bottomless pit. Her thoughts were blank as she only had one objective in mind: Revenge.

Ying Ying, Qiu Rei, and The Boogeyman sensed the blood thirsting aura from Hui Yan. Immediately, they paved a path for her to reach Gu Wing, who was still unconscious from the twisting limb pain from earlier.

Hui Yan smirked as her hands grabbed the first tool she touched from her self-invented torturing equipments, ”Let's see how long this bitch will sleep. How can she be at peace while my daughter is fighting? If hell can't teach her a lesson, I'll make this her last.”
