17 Second Level (1/2)
”So? What is it?” Kerym asked.
Karl read the words. ”This crystal is how we go to the second level, but it also gives us the option to leave the dungeon. What should we do?”
”I don't mind going deeper, but what about you guys?”
”I'm fine with going deeper. I need to be strong enough to protect everyone,” Heath said, placing a fist on his chest.
”I also don't mind. What about you, Kigai?” Dilya asked.
”Yeah, I want to go deeper.”
”Alright, well it's decided. Do we just touch the crystal?” Kerym asked.
”Yup, I'm going first!” Karl chose to go to the second level and a beam of light came upon him. The light slowly disappeared, bringing him with it. He is now at the second level and it is very different from the first. Looking around him, he found himself on an island, but it wasn't a normal island. The island floated in the air, several hundred feet off the ground.
As Karl was looking around, beams of light appeared and the rest of the group appeared.
”Ughh, where are we now?” Dilya asked.
”Well, as far as I can see. We're on a floating island,” Karl answered.
”Floating? What do you mean?”
”Just come here.” Karl walked over to the edge of the island.
Dilya followed behind Karl and looked over the edge. She quickly moved back, tripping on some rocks and landing on her ass, as she saw how high they were. ”How are we so high in the air? And how is this island floating?”
Karl chuckled as he saw Dilya fall on her ass. ”I don't know, but this isn't the only island. Look over there.” He pointed to an island in the distance. ”That's the only way we can go.”
Dilya looked to where Karl was pointing and gulped. ”I probably shouldn't ask this, but how are we going to get there?”
Kerym and Heath walked over to the two and looked over to the island that Karl was pointing at.
”This is amazing. If we find out the reason why these islands float then we could use it in the city,” Kerym said.
”So where do we go from here?” Heath asked.
”Good timing. I was just about to tell Dilya. We have to go to that other floating island over there,” Karl answered, pointing at the island.
”So how do we get there?” Kerym asked.
”Simple, see those vines? It's attached to the other island and we can use that to reach the next island.”
”WHAT?!” they yelled at Karl.
