Chapter 44 (1/2)
It seemed that the evil spirit’s power was very sinister.
It could pass through walls and its hands could restrain a demon hunter’s power.
In just a few seconds, Roald’s eyes had turned red, which was absolutely abnormal. The spirit’s extraordinary power was corrupting him!
Struggling hard, Roald suddenly reached for his belt with his right hand, pulled out a metal vial, and uncorked it quickly. He then poured the liquid over the pair of hands clutched around his neck.
Bang!
Light exploded.
The warm light full of power burned the half-transparent hands and made a sizzling sound. Heavy white smoke quickly rose up.
This was the holy water which the church specially made for use against spirits!
The pair of hands almost melted and quickly pulled back.
Roald was finally rid of the hands and fell to the floor. He could finally breathe again and he panted harshly. The purple bruise left on his neck was in the shape of a hand, and looked rather creepy.
Thulhu also noticed that the bruise was slowly fading. This was the power of resistance which a [Demon Hunter] possessed.
If Thulhu was the one who had been seized by the throat, he would have been killed in a second.
Thulhu didn’t stay idle while the thoughts ran through his mind. He picked up a small coffee table and smashed it down on the last fiend.
“Let’s go!”
Roald uncorked another vial and looked around. “This isn’t simple! This has become a complicated case! The church has to pay more!”
“Right!”
Thulhu totally agreed with Roald.
Thulhu had injured the last fiend, which now didn’t dare come any closer to them.
The fiend was no longer a concern for Roald and Thulhu. What they feared now was that evil spirit!
Thulhu arrived at the front door and pulled it open. It was completely dark outside.
The thick darkness formed a wall which blocked their way.
“This is…”
Thulhu reached out his hand and touched the wall. He couldn’t believe it!
“This is a rank two elite!” Roald’s eyebrows were knitted tight. “The power of its projection into reality has temporarily sealed off this area!”
“Anything we can do?” Thulhu hurriedly asked.
“Neither of us can travel to the spirit world to kill that thing in order to leave this place. Even if we could break the wall, we would probably find ourselves in an unknown dimension.” Roald took a deep breath. “The good news is: As the core of this place, that evil spirit also can’t leave.”
Thulhu didn’t see how that was good news.
He looked around, on full alert. Suddenly, he looked up!
Long, black hair hung down from the ceiling, followed by the red dress!
Its four limbs were dreadfully twisted and its head was upside down. Crawling on its arms and legs, the thing looked like a giant spider.
That pair of hands had healed!
“How many vials of holy water do you have?” Thulhu asked Roald in a low voice.
“Four… Not sure if it’s enough…” Roald was a bit upset. “This is all my fault. I didn’t know…”
Roald trusted the church too much.
After all, even a professional scout might miss some key information in a case.
“We must save the water from now on!”
Thulhu took a deep breath. He now had 150 XP.
He knew that right now, he was only a burden to his brother. But if he could hit the target of 200 XP, he would be able to instantly become a spirit medium!
A spirit medium was an expert in dealing with evil spirits!
