Chapter 43 (1/2)

“Wait…”

Thulhu could only watch Roald dash out of the room and disappear down the corridor.

Maybe Roald had done it on purpose, but Thulhu really didn’t think it was a good idea for Roald to leave his inexperienced young brother here alone to face the demon follower.

“How dare you!”

It was at that moment that Garein finally realized what had just happened. Like a beast, his eyes turned red and he puffed white smoke out of his nose. “You tried to hurt my daughter?! My sweet daughter?!”

“No, sir… It’s a misunderstanding!” Thulhu hurriedly said.

Meanwhile, he quickly pulled out the shotgun from his bag and flicked the safety off. He raised the gun at Garein and said, “You’re just sick. Trust me… You need treatment!”

Well, the treatment would require a gun.

The Goddess of Light Church’s attitude toward demon followers had always been cold and firm.

Thulhu knew that Garein would definitely come to a bad end, but he just couldn’t pull the trigger.

He hadn’t killed anyone before, not in this life or his previous one!

Thulhu needed to have confidence in himself. Like Roald said, a demon follower didn’t deserve any mercy, and should no longer be regarded as a human being.

Killing him was for his own good. His soul would be able to escape the demon’s fangs and claws.

Also, Thulhu would be able to test his attributes panel.

He took a deep breath and was about to pull the trigger.

“Ahh!!”

At that moment, a woman showed up at the door and screamed.

She was a middle-aged woman in a white nightgown. However, her lips were as red as a rose. “What are you… what are you doing to my husband?”

Thulhu thought Garein’s wife had died a long time ago.

Thulhu was stunned for a second. Seizing the chance, Garein instantly jumped at him.

To protect his family, this craftsman’s efforts were impressive.

However, it was still nothing to Thulhu.

Bang!

He smashed Garein hard to the floor.

Staring at the woman standing in front of him, Thulhu wondered if the demon really had brought her back to life. But like Roald said, she was no longer human, but an evil spirit!

Thulhu turned around and aimed his gun at the woman.

“Elisa, go!”

At that moment, Garein hurriedly crawled his way over and stood in front of his wife.

Thulhu’s eyes suddenly opened wide.

Behind Garein, Thulhu saw the woman’s red mouth open bigger and bigger until the corners of her mouth ripped, all the way up to the back of her ears. Then, a long, writhing tongue snaked out between her lips.

Meanwhile, her body had become half-transparent.

An evil spirit? Or a ghost?

Thulhu pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Bang!

The tremendous recoil hurt a lot. If it were an ordinary person using the gun, the weapon might have flown out of their grip. But Thulhu’s strength and constitution had surpassed the physical limits of an ordinary man, and his gunshots were thus rather steady. Smoke filled the room.

The smoke soon cleared. Garein’s body was riddled with bullet holes. However, behind him, the evil spirit now looked even more horrific.

Her beauty was completely gone. Her face was as pale as a dead body. Her long tongue was scarlet.

Blood gushed out from her body, soaking the white nightgown red.

Meanwhile, she quickly absorbed Garein’s blood that was on the floor, like a sponge.

She was now covered in blood.

She was an evil spirit! A real one!

A chill ran down Thulhu’s spine when he saw this.

While demon hunters were indeed strong and tough, they weren’t proficient at dealing with spirits.

Of course, they had special bullets for fighting spirits, but the power they used was greatly reduced.

Thulhu now only had one special bullet left.
