27 Vargoz, The Devourer Of Souls (1/2)
”I know that you called the members of the Dungeon here but...why are you two laying on the floor?”, Helora asked.
As Helora walked in, Briggs and Krotos followed behind her. Helora was correct in her observation, as Orai and I were currently resting our heads on the floor of the Core Room. Since the floor was passively infused with magic, it was not only comfortable to us but it helped reduce any fatigue that we experienced. Since I incurred a large amount of fatigue from editing Obsidian, it was essential that I fully recovered before the challenge began. According to Hidarus, if fatigue ever gets to 100%, I will be rendered immobile for a number of minutes. The last thing that I wanted to do was collapse while fighting in the challenge. As unprofessional as it may have looked, it was the most effective means of replenishing my ability to summon. Obviously, once I get more DP, I can purchase items and structures that can do that more effectively.
”If I had to make a guess, I would say he used his summoning powers since Obsidian has wings now. Judging from the quality of the process, I would say he used a large amount of his allotment. I mean, he used all those materials at DL 24”, Briggs stated.
Briggs walked from behind Helora, with the new, custom version of Miller's sword in his hand. It looked more...sinister. The sword was completely matte-black, featuring a black demon skull covering the Hilt and a large, closed eye in the middle of the sword. It also faintly alternated between the colors of Red and Blue. As Briggs got closer to me, these colors began to shine brighter.
”Is that the new sword? Looks pretty epic. What's with the giant eye though?”, I asked.
”Well, since you are a summoner, I thought it would be appropriate to add some more demon components to the sword. I had some leftover from my last Dungeon assignment, which wasn't too fancy of a material. Despite this, the demon in the sword reacted more...positively than I expected so...yeah. It has an eye now. That's a thing. I made the matte-black skull that you see on the hilt but the eye began to gradually grow. This is the first time it's started to glow different colors so I guess it worked out?”, Briggs said.
Briggs handed me the Demonic Sword, which began to glow a bright red before eventually switching to a more faint blue. As I felt the sword and touched the weird eye, I decided to give it a name.
”Thank you, Briggs! This sword shall be named 'Conquerer'. I can't believe it came out so go-”
”FOOL! You dare try to name the devourer of souls? The man who served under the Overlord Of Hell! The man who was tricked into being sealed into this god damn sword?! Know the name of Vargoz...please?”, Vargoz said.
”Uh...what the hell was that? I thought he could only talk to me telepathically? And what's with that personality?”, I questioned.
”Oh! I see what's happening! Your Dwarf friend messed up the combination process! He must've purified the Demon Parts he used. I think you accidentally purified a section of his personality. From what I remember, Vargoz was more of the 'Kill all your family and then eat them in front of you while laughing' type of person. The fact that he actually talked like a regular person is pretty rare”, Helora said.
The Demonic sword, who named itself Vargoz, rapidly opened his giant red eye. Startled, I dropped the sword from my hand but the sword began to float before it hit the ground.
”Yes, sexy succubus! Now bring me my god damn sacrifices before I rip your fucking soul out of your chest! But also, I don't why I'm always like this since I respect Succubi for running the brothels in Hell. Have you ever tried the Succubus special? They always bring the Succubi with the biggest pair of oppai!”, Vargoz said.
”Wait a minute! I know that special! That's my favorite one!”, Vrudius said.
”Really, Vrudius? C'mon man. I thought you said you weren't perverted. You're not even helping your case right now”, I said.
