Chapter 22 - Abandoned Hospital (6) (1/2)

“What’s wrong? What’s written in there? Why aren’t you guys saying anything?”

Meng Ke blinked a few times and asked. She didn’t understand what was going on.

She couldn’t understand the doctor’s handwriting and didn’t know what was written there. Ji Yun Xiao who was able to read the paper on the other hand fell silent after reading it and only looked at Cheng Zhi Chu while blushing slightly.

…….Xiao Xiao’s blushing face is so cute. She wanted to take a photo but she didn’t have her phone…..No, no, no. This isn’t the time to think about those things. She must hold back.

There was another point that was strange. Cheng Zhi Chu seems to also have the ability to read the file but after looking at it he just showed a very anguished expression, like something hard had hit him, and also fell silent. What on earth does it say…….?

“Ah…..could this be your medical record?”

Remembering Da Gao mentioning earlier that it seems to be a medical record, Meng Ke asked Cheng Zhi Chu curiously. The result of that question was Cheng Zhi Chu’s body stiffening and his cute face turning red with embarrassment.

Oh, he’s pretty cute……..Meng Ke’s soft spot was poked at a little.

“……….”

Cheng Zhi Chu remained silent for a while before bracing himself and nodding. He explained: “It is indeed my medical record. It was probably from six years ago when I was admitted to the hospital. The reason for it was…..moderate paranoia. Sometimes I would fantasize about something that doesn’t exist.”

As he said this, he looked over to Ji Yun Xiao. With pleading eyes, he hoped that Ji Yun Xiao wouldn’t disclose the other content for the time being.

At present, things like mild nymphomania and mild intimacy obsession doesn’t seem necessary to be mentioned. As for things like the “issue of his sexual orientation resulting in a disagreement with his family”, it was complete bullshit. He clearly has a good relationship with his family and his sexual orientation is also very normal.

Faced with those pitiful puppy-like eyes, Ji Yun Xiao shyly looked away. He raised his hand to cover his red cheeks and just remained quiet, not saying anything.

Thank goodness……..

Seeing that he’s not speaking up, Cheng Zhi Chu quietly let out a sigh of relief and rejoiced in his heart. He was very grateful to Ji Yun Xiao’s thoughtfulness.

As for Ji Yun Xiao’s personal feelings towards his medical record, he couldn’t do anything about it. Anyway, he wouldn’t see him again after this and it was fine as long as he didn’t say anything that would cause Bai Yi’s misunderstanding.

Da Gao took in the two boy’s reactions. He was very familiar with his boss, Ji Yun Xiao, and he could tell that his boss’s reaction was not quite right. He looked over at Cheng Zhi Chu suspiciously. Just as he was about to say something, a sudden sound interrupted his thoughts.

“Creak……..clack…………”

Next to the cabinet where the documents were stored, another door slowly opened and revealed a small gap.

Clearly no external force was applied yet it had automatically opened. The sound of the metal was loud of clear and particularly deafening in the silent conference room.

Da Gao vigilantly took a few steps back and pointed the gun at the cabinet door. Cheng Zhi Chu and the others also stared at the cabinet cautiously. When the door was completely open, a small black shadow was revealed. Again, it was a fluffy teddy bear.

Compared to the two previous ones, this one was even smaller than the small bear and was only the size of one handspan. Its furry body wasn’t not in the very least stained, and its cotton-filled limbs were plump and round. Its dark black eyes looked ahead reflecting the image of everyone standing before it in its eyes.

Cheng Zhi Chu looked at this bear and couldn’t help but feel creeped out. It was too new and looked like it had just been bought and placed here.

As for the bears eyes, it made him feel very strange. It looked like it had some focus and was staring at them, as if the next second it would blink and suddenly come alive………

“Shaaa……….”

Suddenly, there was a soft sound of some friction. The little bear suddenly turned its head and its black beady eyes turned a few times before falling onto Cheng Zhi Chu.

!!

Cheng Zhi Chu was shocked. He suddenly felt his back go cold and he exclaimed: “Bear! This bear is alive! It moved!”

“Moved?

Both Ji Yun Xiao and the two sisters showed a confused expression. Meng Ke shook her head and said: “But………it didn’t move. We didn’t see it moving.”

Da Gao vigilantly moved closer and use the top of his handgun to gently touch the bear. After confirming he said: “This is just an ordinary teddy bear.”

He thought about it and then added: “But every time a bear appears, there would always be one of us having a hallucination. This we can confirm. It was probably you having a hallucination again so you saw the bear moving.”

“Is that so……..?

Cheng Zhi Chu glanced at the bear cautiously. He watched Da Gao take it out of the cabinet and store it in his bag. When it indeed didn’t show anything abnormal, he was able to reluctantly suppress the unease inside him.

“Let’s go find the key now.”

Da Gao said this, and the others nodded before leaving the conference room.

Bai Yi walked at the end of the group and, when he stepped out the door, he suddenly turned his head and looked back at cabinet.

The cabinet that should be empty now still had a bear sitting quietly inside. Its black eyes glowed a little and its small figure loomed in the darkness.

“………..”

Bai Yi laughed lightly.

………..

“Drip, drip………”

When they walked down the corridor and heard the sound of water dripping, Meng Ke’s pretty face once again became a little pale.

In the hallucination earlier, she saw that the roof of the first floor was oozing a lot of water and that her sister had become a monster. Now that she once again heard the sound of water, she couldn’t help but think back that what had happened earlier and feel her heart squeeze in fright.

But fortunately, this time it wasn’t just herself that heard the sound of dripping water, the others heard it too. They subconsciously looked ahead towards the direction of the sound.

There was a faint smell in the air. It smelt like the bathroom, but it also seemed to be mixed with some other smell.

The place that they needed to investigate was the men’s bathroom, but this smell made them more alert. After all, this place has not been used for many years and there hasn’t been anyone living here so why would there still be this smell?

“Look………”

Meng Xin’s eyes moved to the ground and she suddenly froze for a moment. She pointed at a small stain and said: “That looks like………blood.”

Cheng Zhi Chu also saw that stain. He used his flashlight to illuminate various areas around them and saw that there were similar stains like this on the walls too. When he got closer to carefully assess it, he could clearly tell that it was a dark, brownish-red colour. It was indeed old blood stains.

“Why would something like this be here…………”

Meng Ke whispered: “Was there a fight in the past? Angry families hitting doctors and nurses? Or……..” Her voice turned anxious, “Something that isn’t done by a human?”

Cheng Zhi Chu felt his scalp go numb. There were blood stains everywhere here so even if it was a case of violence, it definitely would have involved the use of a murderous weapon. Moreover, in a place like this, the possibility of the latter option was even greater.

He was a little panicked and he looked at Bai Yi subconsciously because with Bai Yi around, he felt a little more at ease. As a result, he saw that Bai Yi was looking up at something.

What is Bai Yi looking at……….

He followed Bai Yi’s line of sight and suddenly, the hand holding the flashlight started to tremble.

Under the dim illumination, a long trail of blood stains appeared on the ceiling. Next to it were also both handprints and fingerprints. It looked as if a living person was dragged across the ceiling or something.

The twisted blood stains extended into the darkness and one of it extended into the direction of the source of the smell.
