Chapter 1435 - Forced Kiss (1/2)
Someone had pressed the doorbell. Who was it?
“Your Highness, I will go open the door.”
Ping Ping hurried to the door and opened it. It was a delivery courier.
“Hello, is this Miss Jun Xiqing’s residence?” the delivery courier asked.
“Yes.”
“There’s a package for Miss Jun. Please sign for it.”
Someone had sent a package to Her Highness. What was it?
After signing and thanking the courier, Ping Ping shut the door again. “Your Highness, someone sent you something.”
“For me?”
Ping Ping took up a pair of scissors and opened the wrapping. Inside was an exquisite bronze gift box. Your Highness, this gift box is so pretty. I wonder what’s inside?”
Jun Xiqing slowly opened the box with her fair hands. Inside was a gown.
The pale blue gown had a one-shoulder design with crystal scales embroidered all over the top. The bottom was a floaty, gauze skirt which looked very much like ocean waves under the shining sun. It’s dream-like quality was breathtaking.
Oh my god.
Jun Xiqing’s bright eyes dilated in surprise. She had grown up in the Jun Family and had been a President before, but had never seen such a gorgeous gown.
Even the one from earlier today was incomparable.
Lifting the dress up, Jun Xiqing held it up against herself in front of the mirror. “Ping Ping, does it look good?”
“It’s stunning. Your Highness, you might give all the men a heart attack if you wear this to the birthday party,” Ping Ping gushed.
“Who sent this to me?”
Jun Xiqing hurried over to the box, which held a namecard exuding a faint floral scent.
The image of a lovely little French alleyway doused in the early morning sunlight was printed on the namecard. A message in elegant handwriting was on it: ‘For Sister Qingqing. From Angel.’
Angel?
It was actually Angel.
Jun Xiqing reread that elegant handwriting several times. It… It was Siser Lingling.
That’s right, it was Xia Ling.
Xia Ling, whom she had not met in three years, and had now become the darling of the design world. The shining beacon of the entire fashion scene.
Jun Xiqing’s eyes suddenly turned red. She recalled the time three years ago when she had sent Sister Lingling and Mu Mu away. Apart from her own daughter, Sister Lingling had not brought anything with her when she left.
Flipping the name card over, Jun Xiqing looked at the picture of the alleyway. Under the warm sunlight, the world inside was peaceful, free, gentle and wonderful.
Suddenly filled with emotion, Jun Xiqing felt the telltale signs of tears welling up behind her eyes. It had been three years and Sister Lingling had managed to achieve so much.
…
Jun Xiqing was truly very happy. She had two bowls of porridge that night, filling up her little belly.
“Your Highness, I find that you have been sleeping more, and your appetite has increased. Be careful that you won’t turn into a little pig,” Ping Ping teased.
Jun Xiqing tidied up their trash. “A little pig has such a blissful, carefree life. I don’t mind becoming one! Ping Ping, you wash the dishes while I take out the trash. It will be good for me to move a bit.”
“Alright.” Ping Ping took up their bowls and plates and entered the kitchen. Meanwhile, Jun Xiqing went downstairs to throw the trash into the rubbish bin. She was just about to turn back when a horn sounded out.
She looked up to see a luxury car coming to a gradual stop. The car door opened and Lu Yeming alighted.
Him again?
She really had no wish to see him at all. Spinning on her heel, she turned to leave.
A low, magnetic voice called out. “I just need to make one phone call and you will be sleeping on the streets tonight. Oh, don’t forget that you might not even be able to sleep on the streets.”
Jun Xiqing halted and turned, then said in amusement, “President Lu, do you find yourself behaving a little like a lunatic recently?”
As he stood there, his deep, almond-shaped eyes landed on her face. Sinan had just pointed out that he was behaving out-of-sorts, and she was now saying he was crazy.
He gave a chilly smirk and said placidly, “You are not allowed to attend the birthday party in two days.”
