18 Explain it to me like Im a four year old. (2/2)

Yuri tore her eyes away from her brother and stared at the picture frame that lay smashed a few feet away from her. The picture showed her and Hyun-Shik laughing while they were in vacation in the Outer Islands.

What happened really? Yuri's thoughts ran wild. What have I done wrong? Should I have accepted his proposal from before? What about my career? What about being the Madam of the Song family?

Yuri pulled at her hair in frustration.

Is it because I didn't spend time with his parents? They didn't even know that I'm their son's girlfriend! A good friend! That's how I had introduced myself...

Hyun-Shik had made a fuss about it at the time, but she was able to placate him easily.

”That guy...” Yuri whispered. ”What happened to him this time?”

”Yuri-ah,” her brother tried to draw her attention. ”Your boyfriend's on TV again.”

Yuri's head whipped to face the TV so fast that Kyung-Wan thought he saw a blur.

On screen, they were showing the prime time news and that included an update about Song Corp.

They watched as one of the company representatives announced that in lieu of recent events, the Song Elders, Hyun-Shik's mother and father, who have been holding the top position at the company were finally stepping down. And that the new CEO would be their only living son, Song Hyun-Shik.

This piece of news was met with positive views. And the media seemed to be having a field day as they began to ask the representative question after question.

Yuri's eyes narrowed as the camera focused on Hyun-Shik's side profile. ”CEO...?

After the questions were answered, there was also an announcement about a possible cooperation between Song Corp. and Chung Financial Group.

”Possible cooperation?” Hearing this, Yuri's nails dug deep into her palm. ”Really?” She scoffed. If that's true then... Maybe that's how Hyun-Shik became someone's 'marriage partner'.

At this time, she regretted not listening to Hyun-Shik's explanation the day they fought. Maybe he told her something, but she had been stubborn and had blocked him out.

”Would you look at that,” Kyung-Wan whistled. ”It looks like you're in luck.”

”What luck?” Yuri asked. ”That person,” she pointed at the TV. ”...even though he's my boyfriend, I won't be the one marrying him anyway.”

Kyung-Wan tore his eyes away from the screen and looked at his sister.

”What? Explain it to me like I'm a four year old.”

Yuri answered her brother with a tone that said she's giving up.

”Song Hyun-Shik,” Yuri said. ”...has a marriage partner. He told me that only a few days ago.”

”Oh?” Kyung-Wan straightened his back a little. 'What happens to you then? Have you broken up with that guy?”
