As soon as Zuo Hancheng heard Gu Anhao’s words, he knew that she was already on the verge of losing her temper.

Therefore, he ignored her and instead, he picked up the English textbook and her notebook and before he could even say anything, Anhao had already rushed forward to snatch the books away from his hand.

“Don’t ask me to copy any more textbooks! I can do anything other than copying textbooks! I can really do anything that you want,” Anhao replied before she suddenly paused and added, “And… and besides sacrificing my own body.”

Zuo Hancheng had an indifferent expression on his face as he turned around and squinted his eyes at Gu Anhao. “Don’t you think that you are the perverted one here?”

Anhao felt a little embarrassed because of his gaze as he lowered his head and started looking at her chest before looking at her body which was wrapped up in her conservative pyjamas. When he realized that he had already lost focus of the matter at hand, he smirked before he looked at Anhao once again.

Since this matter was caused because she was coveting the cash reward in the first place, then she should be able to resolve this problem using money!

Anhao quickly looked for the gold card that Zuo Hancheng had given her before she handed it over to him with a pious expression on her face. “Can we settle this matter if I return your gold card to you?”

Zuo Hancheng was surprised because he really did not expect Gu Anhao to say that. He really could not believe that she was actually willing to give up her only source of income just because she did not want to copy the textbook anymore.

“As far as I know, it has already been a long time since you touched any of the money that Gu Tianming has given you to pay for your tuition fees and living expenses. Moreover, you already quit your job at the bar. Are you sure that you are willing to hand your gold card over to me?” Zuo Hancheng asked as he raised his brow at her.

Anhao was of course very reluctant to do so!

She would never touch Gu Tianming’s money! The Gu family did not give her much money and all that he had given her was only sufficient to cover her tuition fees. Furthermore, Anhao was certain that she would not be able to go back and work at the bar because her boss would definitely not be willing to accept her again.

Even though she was very reluctant to admit that she had to depend on this gold card to sustain herself, she would rather survive on instant noodles than continue copying any more textbooks!

Zuo Hancheng did not hesitate to stretch out his hand to take the gold card from Anhao when she passed it to him.

However, when he touched the gold card and was about to take it away, he could feel that Anhao’s fingers were holding onto the gold card firmly.

Zuo Hancheng sneered before he asked, “Gu Anhao, weren’t you very confident when you said that you would return the gold card to me?”

Anhao did not want to lose to him and she quickly let go of the gold card as she watched him take the card before throwing it on the coffee table.

When Zuo Hancheng looked at her, she merely shrugged as she started muttering under her breath.

So, what if she did not have any money? All that she had to do was to stay in her bedroom and eat instant noodles for one month. He can take the gold card back if he wanted to because she would not starve to death!

“Since you are so sincere, and proactively offered to return my gold card to me, as your husband, it is impossible for me to watch you starve yourself.”

When Anhao heard his words, her eyes lit up a little. Zuo Hancheng’s lips curved into a smile as he continued speaking, “From today onwards, I will give you thirty yuan a day to cover your living expenses.”

“Thirty yuan?” Anhao was taken aback by his offer. “Nowadays, even the cheapest lunchbox with meat costs at least ten yuan each! If I were to eat three meals a day, I would not even have a single cent left!”
