At six forty-five, Tong Ya took off her apron and went to school with Tuan Tuan.

Tang Xiaowei was swamped.

It wasn’t until ten in the morning that the stream of customers began to die down.

Tang Xiaowei was so exhausted she was panting heavily, sitting there and gulping for air.

“Oh my God, I feel like I’m falling apart! Why does it seem like the flow of people is more than double since we switched from the food truck to the new store?”

Chen Yu felt the same way. At this rate, he would have to call and order another batch of raw materials tonight.

“Boss, are you hiring here?”

“I remember you were working at the factory. You left your jobs there?”

The four girls looked at each other embarrassedly.

One of them plucked up the courage to step forward.

“We were deceived by a crooked agency. They promised us a monthly wage of five thousand, but after deductions, we only received twelve hundred. And one of my friends here even ended up owing the factory two thousand yuan.”

Chen Yu frowned slightly. These girls clearly came from the countryside and had just reached adulthood.

However, judging by their regular visits to Chen Yu’s place to eat, they were definitely the hard-working, enduring type.

“These crooked agencies are despicable!” Chen Yu complained, and then gestured for the four girls to sit down.

“Then stay and try it out. However, the working hours here might be a bit long. Can you handle that?”

“Yes! The boss is handsome, makes great fried cakes, and must have a good heart. We just don’t know if all four of us can stay.”

“Of course you can,” Chen Yu replied. “But to start, the wage might not be high. I can only promise you three thousand a month for now, with the possibility of an increase based on your performance.”

“That’s fine!”

The four girls immediately perked up with excitement.

But soon, their faces turned sorrowful.

“Boss, we were wondering if you provide accommodations? The factory kicked us out of the dormitory.”

Chen Yu cocked his head to one side, noticing the four girls were carrying quite a lot of bags.

“We do, just rest here for now.”

Tang Xiaowei, who was quite friendly, brought over a kettle of hot water for the four girls.

She had to figure out a way to keep these four girls, so she wouldn’t have to bear the burden anymore.

Chen Yu immediately called Auntie Li.

“Hello, Auntie Li. Do you have any larger houses for rent? I want to use them as employee housing.”

“There are some single apartments that are vacant near that small community behind your store. I’ll be right over.”

Before long, Auntie Li arrived at the store in a whirl, driving a scooter for the elderly.

Meanwhile, Tong Ya also entered the store, bouncing in with Tuan Tuan in tow.
