Chapter 57 – 57 Safety, Return!

Today’s profits were about the same as yesterday’s, considering the only increase in cost was the pork expense.

Looking at the current situation, the store can essentially guarantee a steady income.

I estimate another day of amassing points and I’ll have accumulated one million.

Chen Yu was suddenly filled with anticipation; he had no idea what skill he might draw from this one-time, one-million-point lottery.

Following his usual practice, Chen Yu transferred a neat sum of 170,000 to his checking account.

Apart from spending twenty thousand on pork and ingredients, Chen Yu was pleasantly surprised to find that the balance in his checking account had reached 1.02 million.

This sum was certainly sufficient for him to expand with another shop.

However, Chen Yu still preferred to wait and see.

The business had just stabilized, and he wasn’t keen on disrupting this equilibrium right away.

He decided to make adjustments as necessary after completing the top-tier lottery.

Just as he was storing the pork and sending the girls back to the dormitory, he suddenly noticed Tang Xiaowei standing at the door.

“You’re back!” Chen Yu was slightly surprised, “I thought you went out for inspiration and would need several days.”

Tang Xiaowei chuckled, “Not that long. By the way, do you have anything to eat?”

“I could make you a bowl of noodles.”

Chen Yu took a lump of dough from the fridge and expertly pressed out a bowl of Hele noodles for Tang Xiaowei.

There was no leftovers for broth, so he simply mixed in some basic seasonings.

Just then, Chen Yu suddenly noticed his own portrait in the sketchbook Tang Xiaowei had brought back.

He instinctively pulled it out for a closer look and found Tong Ming inside as well.

“Did you not go far today?” asked Chen Yu without thinking.

The drawing depicted the scene of him talking with Tong Ming that morning.

Tang Xiaowei’s pupils dilated slightly, and her gaze became somewhat panicked.

But she quickly calmed herself down.

“I passed by this morning and felt that this scene had a good atmosphere, so I sketched it! Then I followed to draw that old man.”

Although the explanation seemed far-fetched, Chen Yu had no suspicions.

The drawings thereafter were mostly of Tong Ming, almost documenting all he had done that day.

“Has this Mr. Tong left?” Chen Yu noticed the last drawing was of the elderly gentleman boarding a plane at the airport.

Tang Xiaowei nodded, “It seems like his negotiations with the local consortium fell through.”

Chen Yu didn’t ask any further questions, merely returning the sketches to Tang Xiaowei.

Suzhou City’s Gaoshan Hotel.

Tuan Tuan lay on the vast bed, rolling around cheerfully.

“Teacher Tong Ya, is it really okay for us to sneak out and play without telling dad?”

Tong Ya coughed lightly, “Who said we’re just here to play? This is for you to experience the artistic conception in dance.”

Tuan Tuan pouted, doubting even Tong Ya herself believed that excuse.

After a forced explanation, Tong Ya took out more than a dozen skewers of candied hawthorns from her bag.

“Here’s your candied hawthorn. Have you remembered what to tell your dad when we get back?”

Tuan Tuan’s eyes flickered, “Remembered. We went on a last-minute trip to the capital to participate in a dance competition.”

As she spoke, Tuan Tuan grabbed a strawberry candied hawthorn and bit into it voraciously.

Tong Ya was quite relieved and rubbed Tuan Tuan’s little head.

She really had no choice this time.

But having fun throughout the day did indeed bring her closer to Tuan Tuan.

Just then, Tong Ya’s phone received a flood of pictures and a message from Tang Xiaowei as well.

“The old man has left, it’s safe now, you can return!”
