Chapter 833: 263. Turn turn turn turn
The sea surface of Starfall Sea No. 13 Subarea was ablaze with lights from the large luxury magical mechanical ship.
Melodious music wafted from the mansion atop the opulent ship, intermingled with the cheerful laughter and chatter of young men and women.
A few wizards from the Mantas Family took flight from the sea near the ship and landed on the corridor at the edge of the upper deck.
“Sir Bower, we have searched underwater, and there is no sign of deep sea demons,” one of the Mantas Family wizards reported respectfully with a bow to the lean old man in front of him.
“That deep sea demon must possess considerable intelligence. Having noticed the numerous sailing ships above the surface, it might have already left this subsea region,” the wizard who lingered in front of the underwater cave earlier suggested.
The old man referred to as Sir Bower was skinny and short, with a pointed chin and small eyes perched above which were round glasses.
Flanking him were two maids whose figures could rival that of strong men.
Compared to the two of them, Bower appeared as frail as a chick.
If Noland Lee were here using “Mind View,” he would definitely recognize this old man called Bowles as the Mantas Family housekeeper who loved to be attended by robust maids while surreptitiously pilfering his master’s money.
What Noland Lee found most unforgettable wasn’t Bowles’s particular kink or his illegitimate child, but his little treasury containing millions of gold coins.
Bower was clearly not satisfied with the wizards’ report.
Raising his hand to pinch the tip of his goatee, he uttered in a sharp, peculiar tone, “What did you say?! Possible?! There are so many distinguished guests on board, and you reply to me with just ‘possible’?!”
The Mantas wizards shuddered slightly, bowed their heads, and dared not look directly at Bower.
One among them was either a bit brash or perhaps somewhat courageous.
He attempted to explain, “Sir, apart from the cave at the seabed, we have patrolled the underwater areas of Subsea No.13, and we truly have not spotted the trace of any deep sea demon.”
Bower stepped forward and approached the wizard, “And what about that underwater cave?! Why didn’t you go check it out?”
“Sir, the underwater cave of Subsea No.13 is vast and has numerous forks. From the entrance of the cave to the deepest part, there is a vertical distance of at least two thousand meters. With just the few of us, I’m afraid it is impossible to complete this task,” the Mantas wizard responded, keeping his head down.
“Hmph…” Bower grunted and took a towel handed over by one of the maids, wiping the beads of sweat on his forehead and the bridge of his nose.
As he returned the towel, he casually groped the maid’s sturdy hand.
The robust maid threw him a flirtatious look laced with brawniness…
“The complexity of the underwater cave is no excuse for your negligence,” Bowles mused and then declared, “Tell the people below to set up the underwater barrier nets now, and send more hands to stand guard underwater. If the banquet on board is disrupted because of you, I will throw you all into the sea to feed the deep sea demons! Do you hear me?!”
“Yes, Sir..”
“Yes, yes, Sir..”
