Chapter 1173 (1/2)

Chapter 1173: 366. Gone without a trace_2

Jay Spade’s eyes shimmered with a hint of greed and obsession, like an old lecher stealing a tryst with his lover in the night.

He lifted his hand, his expression dazed as he caressed the edges of the gem box with his palm, gently rubbing the surface like it was a lover’s skin.

These actions and expressions were clearly observed by Paisi Dingda, who was also aware that Jay Spade would detect him watching.

Both were within the sensing range of the other.

Yet even so, Jay Spade’s infatuation with the gems continued to surge within the warehouse, a clear testament to his desperate yearning for treasure.

Paisi Dingda frowned, unsure why Jay Spade, an Eighth-Circle Light Wizard, would behave this way.

Acting out one’s inner desires within the sensory range of another was clearly unbecoming, especially considering that Jay Spade was the manager here.

“Ahem,” Paisi Dingda cleared his throat, slightly raising his voice to ensure Jay Spade next door would hear.

Jay Spade’s body trembled slightly, his eyes clearing a bit as if waking from a deep dream.

He withdrew his hand and nervously glanced at the wall, his gaze swept over Paisi Dingda’s position before he turned and left without lingering, looking every bit like a thief caught in the act.

After he left, the warehouse’s guardian magic circle and alarm matrix were reactivated, protecting the central gem box.

“Click, click, click…”

The sound of machinery whirred from inside the door as the magical machinery lock sealed the room.

Both sides of the door, inside and out, were thus separated.

Jay Spade returned to his office, his eyes suddenly ferocious, veins on his forehead bulging, and his expression twisted.

His teeth clenched, an angry voice burst through the gaps in his teeth:

“Get out, you bastard, what did you do with my body?!!”

A completely transparent figure stood in front of Jay Spade, yet he was completely unaware of its presence.

The figure lifted an arm, brushed past Jay Spade’s waist, and took away an object of immeasurable value. Then, it whistled softly, turning into a breeze and slipping through a crack in the window.

Jay Spade vaguely detected something significant happening around him.

His expression grew more twisted.

About a minute ago, he was just about to start his meditation today when he found his body controlled by an unknown presence.

He watched, wide-eyed, as he walked out of his office, went next door, opened the warehouse’s great gate, disabled the alarm, and caressed the metallic gem box like a lecher.

It was only after hearing Paisi Dingda’s cough that the control over him weakened, allowing him to return to his office and curse the sneaky invader.

Intuition warned him that whatever the intruder’s intent, they had succeeded in their endeavor.

But yet, Jay Spade’s body still couldn’t move.

What frightened Jay Spade the most wasn’t this, but the fact he hadn’t been aware of the intruder’s existence from beginning to end.
