93 Are You Gay? (1/2)

”Nothing much. You?” Han Jie asked, mischievously making Jonah nervously shift from one foot to another.

”Breakfast?” Jonah asked, not really sure of his answer. Han Jie only ever asked for his plans if she was up to something no good.

”Fine. I'll meet you at the table.” Han Jie said as she got out of the bed.

”Sure,” Jonah said, confused at the turn of the conversation. He left the room as Han Jie skipped into the bathroom.

Han Jie ignored her shower and brushed her teeth before getting dressed in black jeans and a black tank top. She grinned at herself in the mirror. She knew it was going to irritate Han Jun that she was wearing his 'colors', and Han Jie needed the distraction.

She skipped out of her room, ignoring the gnawing nerves in her stomach as she skipped out to the living room.

”Good morning, papa,” Han Jie said as she skip-walked into the dining room, her steps faltered at the image on the front cover of the newspaper her father was reading.

”Morning, Jie's.” Han Feng said, barely raising his head from the document that he was reading, a small satisfied smile on his face. He pretended to not bother with the 'papa' call because he knew Han Jie might want something. As long as he does not it, he is still safe.

Han Jun looked up at his cousin and choked on his coffee. Han Jie grinned happily at him.

”Good morning Handsome JunJun.” Han Jie sing song cheerfully before taking her seat.

Han Jun glared at her and ignored her greeting until Han Feng raised his head slightly and cleared his throat disapprovingly.

”Morning princess Han Jie. It afternoon, though,” Han Jun said tauntingly through clenched teeth as he kept his glare on Han Jie.

Han Jie laughed heartily and cut into the bacon she had served herself despite her lack of appetite. Her cousin never let her down.

Han Feng turned his full attention back to the document.

The dining room was silent as they ate. Only the clanging of cutlery against ceramic could be heard.

”I'm not hungry anymore,” Han Jie finally said as she pushed her half-finished plate away from her. There was still food on it, which was not her usual.

Han Feng spied the plate and looked up in concern. ”Are you okay?” He asked, he was barely concealing the concern in his voice.

”Yes, papa, just bored.” Han Jie said as she stared straight ahead, ignoring everyone's eyes in the room.

”Perhaps you could go shopping.” Han Feng suggested. A bored Han Jie was not a good Han Jie.

How else had she fallen into her manga if she was busy with other things?

Han Jie sighed and shrugged, ”Shopping isn't as fun as Mei Mei made it look. I'll call Bai Min, see if he's available,” She said, smiling at her father.

A text caused Han Jie's phone to brighten. She looked at the phone and sat down with a thud.

Han Feng and Jun looked up, startled by Han Jie's abrupt sitting.

”What is it?” Han Jun snapped out impatiently.

”Oh, I… I got a text.” Han Jie stuttered out before she chuckled nervously.

Everyone looked at her suspiciously. Han Jie's heart was thumping quickly in her chest.

”And?” Han Feng asked out through stiff lips. His daughter is clearly acting weird.

Han Jun being sneaky, tried to grab the phone from Han Jie. ”No!” She refused and moved away, shielding her phone aggressively. She even snapped her teeth as a sign of aggression in case Han Jun decided not to give up.

”Oy! Are you a dog? Why are you acting like that?” Han Jun was clearly annoyed. He was also feeling suspicious. ”Who was that? Why are you acting so weird?!”

Han Jie glared, ”Junjun! I don't steal and read your messages! I am not acting weird at all!” She said, full of bitterness. Han Jie was not able to guard her emotion earlier, and she was so shocked to receive a message from her sister, who was just wanted to see her.

Han Jie knew that Han Jun and her father wanted to see Han Mei badly, and she would never sell out her sister deliberately!

”So, who was it?” Han Jun demanded, his arms were crossing over his chest.

”It's Bai, Min! He was telling me something important.” She said as she stood up, ”Papa, I will leave, okay? You already approved earlier.”

”No! You stay here.” Han Jun order as he stood and chased after her to the living room.

”No way,” Han Jie began jumping off the chair shakily. ”Mind your own business! Are you gay?”
