She bit her lip and held the handle with her left hand and threw the phone in the air with the right. A sigh of relief left her lips when it landed on the top of the truck.

Now they will follow it and their concentration will divert and that is all she needed. The sneaky snitch Butler would have reported Li Yuan by now and would be crying to him like he was his Mama.

Lei Xinyi sneered at the thought of the annoying Butler. Snitch B*tch! He didn't leave a chance to disturb her mentally! She had to literally live on her toes because of him!

Having earned herself time Lei Xinyi turned her bike screeching it on the road then she lifted the front tires of her bike and accelerated.

The bike ran up the forest path leaving the road behind. She was familiar with the forest like the back of her hand. A memory was engraved in her head connected to it.

When she ran for the first time, it was the very forest she ran from, barefoot on her small feet with a ten-year-old innocent child and assassins chasing them.

Her eyes became misty at the thought of the boy and the times in the forest. She shook her head to get out of the old memory. It was history. She grew and got over it!

The rustling of leaves and whirling of wind was flushed by the speed she cut the wind with the bike. She crossed the forest on her bike in accelerated speed dodging trees and bushes.

When finally she saw a road in the end, she heaved a sigh of relief. The road was abandoned for being haunted. It had forest on both sides, it was creepy and it was heard that wild animals attacked people here.

So, it would be the last route they will expect her to choose and another efficiency was that it had a direct connection to the port.

The shipment was leaving in 13 minutes and she still had enough time to reach there on time.

The road was empty without a soul and nor was it ever used so Lei Xinyi allowed the speed and put all her senses on the surrounding.

She wasn't scared of a ghost but there could always be scary humans walking around.

The bike was running fast when she saw something like an animal flying in her direction from the left side of the forest, her eyes widened and she accelerated the bike further to avoid it.

Just as she did that, a car came out of the right side of the forest horizontally on the road.

She was running in a very fast speed and the car was half a meter away. She tried to take-over the bike and do a U-turn but it was too late.

She clashed and the car up-turned with her and her bike, she went past the car flying on the road.

It was a set-up!

She was whimpering and heaving in pain. All it took was seconds to take place but will stay engraved in the culprit and victim minds forever.

Her broken bones and the weight of the bike kept her in place. She heaved hard. the world was spinning. The wetness below her was exceeding. Her blood was bathing her goodbye.

The excruciating pain shot up in all her mortal body. That was the moment she realized how die-able and breakable she was.

The cold of the night was seeping in her. The wind was whistling in consolation or maybe in mock with nothing but void to mourn her.

People said all your life passed from your eyes when you were in the dreadful pain before death but Lei Xinyi saw nothing, remembered nothing, nor was she numb.

She just felt what she felt all her life...pain. Screams wrenching pain!

She had prayed to God for the first time. For peace and calm and it looked like he listens. The irony was, even he thinks that the only way for her to reside in peace was to rest in peace...

”Lei Xinyi!”

She heard a distantly familiar voice shout to her but she was far too gone to recognise. That was the moment when her world turned dark and her life bright.
