Jiang Qinqin eyes widened and he was momentarily shocked by her reaction, at most he was expecting to be hit by a vase or hear her say something haughty or sarcastic but here she was covering away in fear.

”Wh..Who are you?” Lu Xinyi asked in her most threatening tone.

Jiang Qinqin immediately schooled his features and gave her a soft smile, ”Lei Xinyi, don't you remember me? I am your brother, Jiang Qinqin.”

To Lu Xinyi that didn't make sense at all. His name was Jiang Qinqin and her name was Lei Xinyi then how can they possibly be siblings.

Looking at her confused reaction, Jiang Qinqin chuckled and sat on the bed beside her.

”We were both adopted. They didn't know my real Family name so they just gave me theirs but they knew of your lineage so thus Lei Xinyi.”

Lu Xinyi looked at him a little suspiciously but nodded.

”I..I saw you in the pictures in my phone.” Lu Xinyi said hesitantly.

Jiang Qinqin looked at Lu Xinyi solemnly and patted her head tenderly, ”It's still hard to believe you lost your memories.”

Lu Xinyi looked at him again and held his other hand.

Though she didn't remember anything and nothing was familiar about his embrace but she could sense genuine affection and concern coming from him

”Brother... You are my brother?” Jiang Qinqin nodded at her.

With a tear strained face Lu Xinyi sniffed, ”If you are my brother then take me home with you. I don't want to stay here. They treat me like a prisoner, I feel suffocated! They don't even let me out of the house!”

Jiang Qinqin had a pained expression, he sighed, ”Lei Xinyi you were in an accident and it was an orchestrated accident. Somebody want you dead. This place is the most safe place for you till we find out who is after you...”

It was a half truth but it would do for now.

Lu Xinyi pouted her lips and shoved him away, ”What use are you as my brother if you can't even save me from this fortress of the Demon King?!”

Jiang Qinqin chuckled. It was unbelievable that Lei Xinyi could act cordially and coyly like a carefree girl.

”Don't let anyone hear that! They won't take it as easy as me. They might tattle you.” Jiang Qinqin hugged her again and said playfully.

Then making her turn to him he said seriously, ”You have my number in your phone if you want something I will get it for. Your friends will come here for you soon too and I will visit you more often if you feel lonely, but don't do yourself harm like that. Our Boss really don't have a very good temper and you don't want to anger him.”

Turning her head away from him she grumbled, ”Okay!”

She really wanted to know what job she did for their Boss but just didn't know how to say it out loud. She didn't want to hear something she wouldn't like.

For now obliviousness can be blessing for her.....

Jiang Qinqin had a soft smile on his face. Maybe it was a good thing that she don't have that horrid memories anymore. He will protect her innocence this time with his life.

Jiang Qinqin patted her head tenderly, ”Okay now I got you your favorite take-out, let's eat I am hungry too.”

Lu Xinyi immediately started gobbling all the food.

Well now at least she won't be surrounded by mannequins who don't talk nor react. Sometimes she will have company but at least she got something out of her tantrum.

It was a win for her!
