Chapter 134: Jingle Bells Rocks (2/2)
”I'm glad you're offering to host Gale.”
”Huh?”
The door knocked again as Emil poked his head around the corner. ”Well, right on cue. Zinnia is fashionable late. Alton, you going to get that?”
Alton glanced at the door, frowning. ”Scarlett can you get that for me I need to get the presents.”
”Oh? Yes, certainly.” She replied, opening the door as Zinnia raised her hands smiling wearing reindeer antlers. ”Merry Christmas Zinnia.”
”And a happy new year to you too. Merry Christmas everyone!”
Alton walks in making eye contact with Zinnia. Neither says anything as Scarlett sighs knowing why. Zinnia puts the presents down on the table as she sat in the kitchen nodding. ”Yummy. That cake smells amazing.”
Alton sat back on the sofa, piling through his phone. ”Hey, Emil how is everything at the Montagues? Everyone getting along now?”
”To my surprise, yeah. They are even having their own Christmas party next week if you all want to come.”
Alton shrugged his shoulders. ”Not really that interested. Since my mum died, I don't really celebrate Christmas.”
”Talk about a mood killer…” Emil whispered.
Iris fell onto Alton lying on his shoulder, nudging him. ”Well, I guess we're just going to have to get you into the Christmas spirit your humbug. Zinnia any suggestions?”
”Huh? What? Oh, no… Sorry.”
Gale kept eyeing down both Alton and Zinnia humming. ”I would like a group meeting! Alton, Zinnia stay there.”
Everyone else apart from those two walked over to Gale as he huddled them up. ”What is this about?” Emil questioned.
”Any of you noticed Alton and Zinnia are keeping their distance?”
”No. I can't see.”
”Not funny. They can't even keep eye contact for even a second. They clearly both have a crush on each other.”
”I don't think that's true…” Scarlett shut down.
”Will you shut it… I say we get them together.”
”But don't you have a crush on Zinnia Gale?” Alice questioned.
”What? I do not! Is it that obvious?”
”Yes.” They all whisper.
Gale cleared his throat. ”Anyway… I'm willing to sacrifice my chances. I guide souls to a treasure I cannot possess. You guys got to help me with this.”
”Hard pass,” Scarlett grumbled walking away sitting down stacking the presents she brought.
”Well, I'm all in. Christmas is the perfect time to do this! It's the time of miracles and love.”
”I would say you watch too many Christmas films Iris, but you can't see.” Emil jabbed.
Iris pouted punching Gale. ”I have feelings, you know.”
”I didn't know you were deaf too…” He mumbled, rubbing his arm. ”Can I count on you guys for this?”
Emil sighed nodding. ”What the hell I think Team Rhapsody needs a win why not.”
”Hell yeah. Operation Lockhart is now in full effect.”
”Operation Lockhart?” Alice questioned.
”He loves his codenames…”
”Hey, what the hell are you guys mumbling about?” Alton grumbled watching them idly.
”Nothing! Forget that. Let's open presents, yeah?!” Gale yelled as everyone began sitting around the fire. Both Gale and Emil glanced at each other, giving the thumbs up. ”This is going to be great!”
