216 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 23 (1/2)

Patrick and Lynn ran to the defensive post. They ran there after picking up the emergency weaponry that was placed among the base. Patrick picked up an LWMMG and Lynn picked up an Istiklal 14.5. Jets were taking off from the ground, carrying bombs and anti-tank ground missiles.

Tanks were rolling down the road of the air force base, followed by multiple armored vehicles. Those armored vehicles were carrying soldiers that would fight the attacking party. However, Patrick and Lynn would be on top of the command center with the other snipers. Howitzers were thrown off the plane since they would be used for bombarding those enemies.

Patrick ran to the staircase of that defensive tower building with the LWMMG on his back. Lynn took the stairs since she would be shooting from the balcony of the building while Patrick shot at the attackers with his MG from afar. However, Patrick and Lynn would be the eyes of the lieutenant general. Patrick and Lynn would also give command on where they should drop the bomb or target the artillery.

Patrick: ”Charlie Papa to Baseplate, do you copy? I'm on position Bravo-Lima.”

Baseplate: ”Baseplate copy. Thanks for the help commander.”

The jets were flying in the sky and they started bombing the forest with incendiary bombs that burned the forest. Bullets were exchanged between both parties. The combination of autocannon rounds and 40mm grenade rounds made the forest turned more chaotic than it was. Patrick laid down in front of one of the sandbags and started shooting his LWMMG in the direction of the attackers.

His MG was only there to provide suppressing fire since the one who would actually kill the attackers was the marksman. Lynn and the others would pick the targets that Patrick and the others chose to kill. However, Patrick also had the responsibility to mark the position that was required to be bombed. The snipers started shooting their anti-materiel rifles in the direction of the enemies.

Patrick: ”Charlie Papa to Baseplate. We've located several hostiles in the direction 3-0-0. Permission to request the codename of the airstrike.”

Baseplate: ”Baseplate copy. The codename for airstrike is Hagrid.”

Patrick kept shooting his machine gun at the adversaries without giving any mercy. However, something seemed to a bit off. There wasn't anyone that wore something modern-ish. Those people seemed very tribal in comparison to his own force. Nevertheless, they were holding guns, so there would be bullets exchanged between both parties.

Patrick pulled the bolt of his machine gun and he opened the dust cover of that machine gun. He put another box of ammunition into the machine gun and fired it at the tribals that were holding M16 in their hands.

Patrick: ”Hagrid, this is Charlie Papa. Requesting airstrike on my mark.”

Patrick pulled a laser designator from his chest rig and he marked a random area from the forest where the gunfire was coming from. Patrick waved his laser designator several times to attract the attention of the pilots that were looking down at the forest down below with their infrared camera.

Hagrid: ”Pickle. Bombs away.”

The A-10 dropped two bombs on the forest and it exploded and threw some of the trees away from the forest. It was most likely to be those bombs which had the payload of five hundred kilograms since the explosion wasn't as big as he had expected. Some of the hostiles were reduced to ashes as screams could be heard from the burning forest. Patrick felt that there was something wrong.

However, there was another thing that caught his attention. Two Apache helicopters were flying on top of his head. The game was spiced up by eleven by the arrival of those Apaches. It would make a quick job of those attackers.

”Sir!” One of the machine gunners shouted.

There was something in the forest. That something was a kid. It was a kid that was trying to climb the fences of that perimeter. Patrick looked at that kid who was seemingly way younger than him. Patrick pulled the trigger of his machine gun and shot the front of the gate to make sure that the kid ran away from him.

He didn't intend to shoot into that kid, but the bullets ricocheted and hit the kid in the legs. Patrick didn't care, he kept shouting in the direction of the forest. However, he didn't realize that the kid was in fact a tribal of that jungle. However, the combination of gunfire and orders were not giving him the time to think about the situation there.

Yes, the HSDC hadn't realized that those people were tribals inside of the area. They only cared about maintaining their base from the attackers that might want to raid their stuff or even worse. As the combat continued, so did the order from the commander of that base. Patrick received another request from the commander of that base.
