215 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 22 (1/2)

The base was full of personnel that moved cargoes from one plane to the storage area. Most of the cargo was food supplies that would supply the food for the base. However, it would take them a week or two before the kitchen was ready to produce any food.

Patrick walked in the asphalt road of the base. His mind was filled with the sight that he couldn't forget. What he must do? Lynn wouldn't like to hear that her enemy was still alive and well. Especially when the said enemy was an enemy that changed her life upside down.

Patrick had worn a new clean combat uniform. There was nothing that caught his interest on that base now since Patrick didn't have any relation with the commander of the base except for the relation between a superior officer and his underlings. Lynn was waiting in front of the living quarter. She waited for Patrick a few hours ago.

Patrick sat down beside Lynn.

”What took you so long? Herring told me what happened. Congratulation on entering that ICBM base alone and planting a virus inside of the mainframe. However, Patrick, tell me something. How does that ICBM base look like?” Lynn asked.

”Full of pipes, full of missiles, and awfully creepy.” Patrick grabbed a cigarette from his pocket and smoked it.

”Damn, Patrick, I told you not to smoke.” Lynn threw the cigarette away and Patrick just smiled. He wasn't angry about that. It was an expected action from Lynn since she cared for him the most. Nobody would even tell him to stop doing that with the exception of Lynn.

”I know. So… do you have any news update for me? Or are you going to force me to see the beautiful white death all day long?” Patrick chuckled. ”Of course, I prefer both, but one of them is more than enough.”

”Well, if you want the news. There is always news from our old country. The combat team manages to put some clandestine operators inside of the region. However, it was true, civil war had broken out. To make matter worse, our teacher hasn't called us yet. She is either die in that damned civil war or just decide that calling us will not yield any result,” Lynn said.

”Hmm, poor woman. I hope she is okay. Any news about Ambrosia in the old country or have we managed to destroy all of them without any exception? I'm afraid of the Ambrosia cartel and what they can do,” Patrick said.

”Ambrosia in our country is gone thanks to our continuous action in destroying them when we tried finding the nuke. However, there was an unknown nerve gas being used in the midst of civil war. Do you have any idea what the gas is? Or should I just spill the beans?” Lynn asked.

”Trinity.”

”This clandestine operation. What is the purpose of this clandestine operation besides throwing lives into the dumpster fire? There wasn't any tactical advantage of sending our troops into our old country,” Patrick said.

”You have a valid point. Patrick, the trinity gas was the problem. United Nations doesn't want anyone to come inside or come outside of that country. We are there to act as a disaster relief that was rented by the united nations,” Lynn said.

”I see. However, about that gas, will it disperse in mid-air, or is it concentrated on multiple areas? Is it potentially hazardous for the contractors? There are so many variables and it is very hard to discard what is a fact and what is not. The contaminated area is called the Yellow Zone isn't it?” Patrick asked.
