212 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 19 (1/2)
The hangar had been filled with staff although Patrick hadn't even spent more than twenty minutes inside of that newly made base. Patrick looked at Lynn who was shaking her hand with the commander of that division. It was the Lieutenant General that commanded the whole 124th Expansion division.
Their job as a division was to facilitate everything that the HSDC needed if they wanted to do an expansion. For example, this job was supposed to be a job for that 124th Expansion division, but Nathan insisted on Patrick and Lynn to come and assist the operation to the best of their abilities. So far, that division had done nothing that contributed to the chance of success for that mission alone.
Patrick disliked inefficient working. He didn't know why he needs to be there since he wasn't supposed to be there. Patrick and Lynn were supposed to be going gun blazing in the middle of the middle east or the American Latin where conflicts were as common as water in the middle of a rainforest.
Patrick waited on the corner of the hangar as more planes were landing on the runway inside of that base. Multiple planes ranging from a Globemaster to a Galaxy were landing inside of that base that was newly made and located in the middle of Panama. Those planes would serve as a logistic plane for that base since no road connects from that base to the nearest city in Panama.
However, Patrick didn't know what the use of building a road there. He didn't think that Panama had enough resources to feed HSDC which had a population of a small town. However, if they gained access to the nearest road, they literally controlled Panama since the US government allowed HSDC to operate in Panama.
As Patrick thought about it, Lynn walked in his direction. Her face was sleepy as usual. It was due to the fact that both of them stayed up all night long again without any meaning. However, Patrick thought that sleeping in the nearest living quarter was a good idea. However, Patrick wouldn't think something irrational like that. He knew that they would be standing by for the supplies that would keep coming and coming from the HSDC main base for them.
However, it was not a reason for Patrick to stop resting since most of the operations inside of that base would be taken care of by that person that was stationed there. Patrick and Lynn walked outside of the hangar as they looked at the runway that had been activated since there was more personnel on the air traffic control tower as of now.
There might be around seven people inside of that control tower that kept taking off and landing for every six minutes non-stop. Lynn hugged Patrick in his hand. Patrick gladly accepted that hug since Lynn was the only person that he had as of now. His family had gone since he was in the tenth grade and Lynn's case was far worse than Patrick.
Patrick and Lynn entered the building and Patrick fell to the ground hard. It wasn't because he was poisoned or anything, but it was because he was tired of that operation. No longer after that, Lynn fell to the ground too because of her sleepiness. Patrick and Lynn slept in the front room of the living quarter again like yesterday. It felt like that the cold floor of the lobby was a bed for both of them. It would be mentioned in the future, but for now, they would just sleep while waiting for the newest order that Nathan would give to them.
Tuesday, 11th of August 2021. Panama Forest. 1300 Hours.
Patrick woke up from the floor of that lobby. Lynn was still sleeping soundly, and Patrick realized something was odd. He felt that it wasn't a floor of the lobby anymore. The floor of the lobby wouldn't be as comfortable as the surface that Patrick was sleeping in.
He suddenly realized that he was sleeping under the blanket. Not stopping there, once he nodded his head in the right direction, he saw something unexpected. There was that white-haired girl that appeared out of nowhere. That white-haired girl was Lynn. He was sleeping under the same blanket as Patrick.
However, both of them were still wearing the same combat uniform and the same tactical rigs that they wore. Their helmets were placed on top of a nearby table. Patrick wiped his eyes one more time to make sure that It wasn't a dream. It wasn't a dream after all. Lynn was really sleeping right beside him.
Patrick wanted to wake her up, but he felt very bad about it. It was due to the fact that Lynn's face forbid him from doing it. Patrick stood up from the bed and he wore his combat boots again. Patrick didn't remember what had happened. He only remembered that he arrived in that room which only had a bed, a wardrobe, and a bathroom. There was no more to that room. There wasn't any fancy furniture like the living quarters in the main base.
