197 Ambrosia Cartel: Part 4 (1/2)

The night went darker and darker to the point where the dark orange sky was no longer visible. The vision of those two contractors was green with the combination of yellow spots that appeared due to the fact that there was a living creature there.

They actually had arrived at the predicted area of the Ambrosia HQ on Mexico. The ruins of buildings could be seen in that area. Brick walls that were filled with bullets, the house that was roofless, and the number of spent bullet casings in that area. All of those indicated that there used to be a great gunfight there. The casings match the bullet that those two contractors brought.

The casings were certainly from the FN FAL that the Mexican military used. It was clear that the Mexican military was there, but the remnants of the cartel were hard to be seen due to the sheer darkness and the fact that they had no blueprint of the cartel hideout.

The cartel hideout was a building that had an appearance similar to an administration building than a building where a cartel might reside. It really looked like an office building that was misplaced in the middle of the jungle. The wall of the former headquarter was covered in moss and greeneries from the nearby jungle.

There was also this computer where plants had grown from inside of it. It really indicated that this place had been abandoned for so long since the bullet casings and the computer of the headquarter itself had shown its age. The plants had overtaken that place. If one wanted to gain intelligence from those things, it would be hard since the hard disk would probably have rotten.

”Lynn, we come at the wrongest of time. It's just weird since this place used to be a place where the cartel managed their entire operation in this country. We might have to search for a bunker.” Patrick stepped on the rubble of the building. The stones fell down from a hill of concrete pieces that Patrick stepped on.

He went for the second floor while Lynn went for the first floor of that headquarter. The second floor was filled with printers and computers. There were several packs of untouched HVS papers. Those papers might be used for printing the Ambrosia cartel signature logo so they could pack their cocaine with that logo.

Patrick opened one of the printers that were having a jam in the middle of printing. The jam was caused by a bullet that hit and destroyed the printer into pieces that were unrecognizable anymore. However, Patrick opened the printer to retrieve the paper that was stuck in the printer.

The paper was a half-printed Ambrosia cartel logo. Patrick was right, this place used to be the place where the cartel printed their logo. All he had to do was to find a functioning aka anything that could be salvaged for parts. Patrick was positive that there would be a computer that had a functioning hard drive.

”Shit, SPIDERS!!!” Patrick grabbed the AA-12 from his back and shot those spiders with his assault shotgun. The slug round immediately turned the spider inside out. The abdomen of the spider got out of its body and wet Patrick's boots. It was gross as hell and Patrick just lost a possible salvageable computer.

He was right. The computer was salvageable if not for the number of explosive shotgun slugs being fired at the pc. The hard disk turned into scrap metal and disappeared entirely from the computer itself.

'Damn, now I have to find another one,' Patrick said inside of his heart. Patrick kicked the computer and searched for another computer inside the room. There was a room that seemed to be unscathed. That room seemed to be used by one of the bosses in the cartel since the room was filled with files inside of cabinets.

The room was still well furnished with the addition of thick dust here and there. With a bit of cleaning, this room should look like new if not for the number of bullet holes that were there. Lynn hadn't said anything downstairs, Patrick hoped that she wasn't attacked by animals or anything dangerous at all.

Patrick closed the door of the room and there was a computer inside of that room. The computer seemed to be dusty, but it should be functional since the computer wasn't shot by bullets or anything. The computer simply didn't have any power powering it since the generator had been disabled by the Marines of the Mexican Army.

Patrick looked at that computer and he grabbed the swiss knife from his tactical rig. The swiss knife had a screwdriver that could be used to open that PC. Patrick started unscrewing those screws that were attached to the panels of the PC. The screws seemed to be very rusted. It was expected. The roof was nonexistent and a rusted casing was more than expected.
