116 McGrath and Dynn: Part 16 (1/2)

Tuesday, 9th of December 2020. A coffee shop near Trinity high school. 2100 Hours.

Clara was sitting near the window of that coffee shop. She was wearing a hoodie and a very thick scarf. It was due to the fact that she concealed her identity. Patrick took a break so he could respond to anything that Clara had to say. Even to the scale that he closed the coffee shop early. He could replace the loss that the coffee shop would have if he closed it before ten in the evening.

”So..., What's this building?” Patrick put a cup of coffee and sat down in front of Clara.

”A government facility disguised as an abandoned warehouse. Look at the size of this complex, it's huge,” Clara showed the blueprint of an underground research complex that was located on the outskirts of the capital.

”Of course, well, what's so special about it?” Patrick asked as he grabbed a pen from his apron that he usually used to write order.

”It's a four-floor facility with a lot of laboratory for a specific gas, Trinity,” Clara said as she marked some entry point with an ”X”

”I see. Well, can we infiltrate it? Two of us?” Patrick asked, but Clara immediately pointed out several specific locations that were marked as a guard post and machine gun turret.

”I guess not?” Patrick squinted his eyes as he looked at the blueprint. The guards were most likely to be special forces, and Patrick didn't want to ask for help from the other contractors as well. He couldn't conduct an airstrike either and their time window could be running shorter.

Clara gave Patrick another file, when he opened it, it was a document about a military high protection suit that was manufactured offshore. It was the Juggernaut suit that Alpha and Bravo usually wore.

”Ok, good idea. But how we are supposed to go there? As you might know, the suit is very heavy,” Patrick said as he sipped his coffee.

”Well, it's better than being shot using standard body armor,” Clara justified the use of the juggernaut suit. Patrick agreed with that and they opened the catalog for a juggernaut suit. It turned out that a piece of that suit cost as much as a million dollars.

”Are you sure about this?” Patrick said as he looked at the juggernaut suit that was available on the armory system.

”Yeah,” Clara put her hand on the phone and bought that juggernaut suit. The juggernaut suit has the ability to tank bullets up to .338 Lapua Magnum without taking any damage. Still, any hit from a 14.7mm rifle would kill the occupants inside the suit.

Patrick looked at the weapon choice. He needed something that was considered heavy, but not a machine gun since Clara had an LWMMG for that role. He decided to bring a grenade launcher. He bought a new grenade launcher, GM-94 grenade launcher.

”Yeah. Well, how are we going to gain access to the main building? It's locked,” Patrick pointed at a door that required a key card from the personnel there.

”The door isn't explosion-proof. Don't worry too much about it,” Clara said.

”I see, well, Lynn should be here, shouldn't she?” Patrick pointed his hand at a room that was called Subject Containment Unit.

”Most likely. It's impossible that she isn't here,” Clara said as she pointed her hand at another document. It was full of pictures. Clara gathered the pictures of that warehouse, but she hadn't gained access to that warehouse yet.

That warehouse was an old building that was surrounded by trees and some houses in a suburban area. The warehouse wasn't guarded, but it didn't have any sign of life either. She could be there, but she could not be there too. Well, what matter was for him to find the secret entrance and retrieve Lynn and get out.

Patrick looked at that blueprint, ”Ok, let's just say that we need a key card. Do you have one?” Clara showed a document that had two pieces of key card.

”I ”borrow” it from the security personnel there. They're in a better place now,” Clara must refer to the people that she killed just for the sake of two plastic cards.

”I see,” Patrick grabbed one of the cards and put it inside his pocket. Clara packed those files and put them inside a backpack. It was her backpack. Clara sipped on her coffee and the way of that conversation changed.

”What Lynn has been through?” Clara asked.

”What do you mean?” Patrick asked back.

”She mentioned a few times that she has a lot of downs during her life before she became a contractor. What happened?” Clara asked.

”I suggest you ask Lynn about it. What she told you as of now is what I can tell to you for now,” Patrick said as he sipped his coffee.

”She mentioned that she killed three of her friends in the past. Is that true?” Clara asked like a curious girl she was, but Patrick didn't know about that either.
