Chapter 537 - There are paparazzi here (1/2)
Jeremy stopped in front of Mika's room but instead of getting into the room to get Ryn, he waited to listen to those women. He knew how hard it was for Ryn to open up and hoped his little sister could do it, opening her heart.
He was waiting and waiting but all he could hear was the giggle from Mika and grumble from Ryn. The topic they were talking about was, of all of the things, fashion.
He shook his head and went to the study room. He could use the time to peruse some files.
The butler was done arranging the luggage into the cars and then he urged the maids to go back into the mansion while the driver brought the cars back into the basement.
Ten minutes before the time to depart, they would bring the cars back to the front so the family could get into them and head to the airport. Although the family used a private plane but they were going to take it at the airport.
The butler received the report where each family member was. He did not bat an eye to know the Master and Madam went straight to the master bedroom and locked the door tightly. He checked the time and decided it was enough for the couple to do whatever they needed to do.
The Dowager went to the prayer room to pray for her late husband, as well as for the safety and successful wedding ceremony. She also prayed for great-great-children could arrive to this world after ten months. And she also prayed for the health of every member of her family.
She would pray and pray for her hope and wish to turn into reality.
Jeremy was deep under the files, according to the maid who was checking on him. Miss Catherine was with Young Mistress Long giggling and laughing in the room.
”What's wrong?” The butler asked as he approached the elder woman. Wasn't the menu for lunch has been decided? So why was she staring at the whiteboard?
”Some of the ingredients are not here yet,” the cook replied. She was thinking what to make by using ingredients available right now instead of waiting for the rest to arrive. Time was running out and based on what she planned, it would take quite some times for it to be done.
”Just make whatever you can do. Quickly. You do remember the lunch will be held earlier because they need to leave early.” The butler reminded.
The cook rolled her eyes in exasperation. ”Of course I know. Right now I'm trying to thing a meal that they can even eat in the plane.”
”Just make something on the go for them. Lunch make it heavy,” the butler urged hurriedly. He checked his watch worriedly. The family had their breakfast quite late today, and ended late. Just in a few more hours the family would go down to have their lunch.
”You... I know what I'm doing. Just let me think,” the Cook started to get pissed off with the way the butler was rushing her. She knew her job and she was the best in her job. She knew what to do.
The maids stopped their work and watched as both the Cook and the Butler exchanging heated words. They were not worried with the argument, already used with this kind of situation because whenever the family was going to leave on a trip, these two would start bickering and arguing. Silently they let out a sigh seeing not once either of them gave in. It seemed like they needed to leave these two alone.
They could start by washing and preparing the ingredients.
Back to Ryn and Mika...
”Here. Wear this,” Mika handed a denim jacket.
Without another word, Ryn put the jacket on over the dress. Then, she turned around to show it to her best friend.
”Perfect... no... no... something is missing,” Mika shook her head. She went into the wardrobe, gesturing for Ryn to follow her.
Ryn followed. Her lips twitched at the sight of Mika still in her pajama. Shouldn't her best friend get ready by now? They needed to leave in several more hours, right after lunch , but all Mika could care about was her outfit.
Sigh.
Ryn watched as Mika pulled several drawers full with necklaces. Mika mumbled something under her breath as her hands touched each necklace. She even pulled the drawers full with earings and another part with rings.
Ryn put out her hand and let Mika put two rings. And then, she let a simple necklace but the pendant was a huge oval pearl.
”I think this is enough. Less is more, Mika,” Ryn said finally. The ring and necklace were enough for her. More would look too overcrowded, in her mind.
Mika eyed her carefully. She, of course, wanted to add more but alas, the owner of the body said no.
